How to add game to steam

hi i have conviction in uplay but when i try to copy cd key to clipboard and then activate on steam it says that the cd key is invalid.
    what should i do?
it is the conviction that came with blacklist, which itself was a promo when buying nvidia video card.
also, is this conviction deluxe edition or something?

All Ubisoft PC games require the UPLAY client to activate and play. Splinter Cell Conviction is a non-steam game, it is not not a steamworks game and it will be the same for Splinter Cell Blacklist.

    Having said that....

Adding non-Steam games to your Library

How can I add non-Steam games to my Library in Steam?

This will only add a shortcut to your game in the Steam client. This will not allow you to download updates for your game through Steam nor allow you to use this game as proof of ownership for your Steam account. Only games purchased or registered through Steam can receive automatic updates and function as proof of ownership for a Steam account.

    Adding a shortcut to a non-Steam game

    1. Launch Steam.
    2. Click the Games menu, choose Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
    3. Browse for games on your computer or put a check next to the game(s) you wish to add to the Library.
    4. Click Add Selected Programs

Guzz33, So when I add the game, I have to browse to the "Blacklist_Launcher"? Man that looks like crap in my friends list. I tried changing the name to "Tom Clancy's Splintercell Blacklist" but then the game wouldnt launch. Any other suggestions?
