    weird error "unexpected error (13:6)"

I recently recieved Heroes of Might and Magic 5 as a gift from my brother, he purchased it on gamersgate.com and gifted it to me. I downloaded it, installed it, but when I click the icon for the game and click next after entering the serial key I this "unexpected error (13:6)" and it kicks me out without even trying to activate the game. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I also uninstalled and tried redownloading it, thinking maybe I glitched the download somehow, but it just keeps doing the same thing. Can you help me out here? Is there maybe a way I can go online and activate it manually?
