    Pounds or Dollars?

I saw in one of the previews that Connor had £500 But the game takes place in the (now) USA.
So I'm confused are we going to use $ or £?

$ are minted by the US Gov't.

The colonies are a colony of Britain and the US Gov't doesn't exist yet.

    We will use £.

in British controlled areas, yes, the pound was the currency used mostly. The dollar did exist in revolutionary times i think, but not in the form it does in the U.S today.

Do you live in America or Europe?

If you live in America, you should consider taking AP US History. Great course, and I'm way more excited for AC3 because of it. (I'm 15, by the way)

No no, the colonies as a majority certainly used pounds

Dollars came later. Trading actual goods might also be present as a game mechanic.
