I am glad you had fun.

Try this in QMB: Set yourself up at 5000m alt in a FW190A or 109G vs. four independent Spitfire opponents on hard settings.

By "independent opponents", I mean the four are of four different groups, none of them are attached to wingmen.

Try it with and without a single wingman.

They will probably cut you to ribbons unless you are very good.

This is a hard exercise because the attention of the four independent opponents will be concentrated on you all at one time. They are not dumbly following wingmen, they are not "target fixated" etc.

In my experience, one really good and seasoned online IL2 pilot is worth at least four independent Ace AI pilots.

Shooting down AI that are fixed on targets or following wingmen is child's-play.

If you can do well in the above scenario, post a track of it, that I would like to see.....

Been there done that.. and 'diced' them all.
We can only hope for some 'human AI'...

You should try four independent 'ace' Yak3's - forget the spits, Yak3's are much superior up to 5K.
For even more fun have a 32 ace party - Now you're talking...

    OR
Try the deadly rata Online (V4.08 - 6MB)

The cure for ace ai is hug the ground and turn with them a bit, when there are many vs you get them via snapshots as you can't allow to be on his 6 for prolonged periods of time, if you are alone you can toy with Ai oppo.

The real challenge is Cert's Ai mod.
Those Ai's aren't stupid and they will wax your arse every time when on your 6, *maybe* not true only if you are hugging the deck like a chewing gum in winter. Although they have issues, they are much more lethal than stock Ai.
1v1 are turkey shots, I guess nothing except human will be interesting for a long time (don't hold my breath for sow either). However vs multiple ace Ai things can get hot pretty quickly. Especially if you are in slower plane .

    DKoor is right.

I use the zero or A5m or any tight TnB planes. Usually the BnZ planes (like the 109 or P-47) are very hard to catch after the first pass because they climb like modern jets.

Ace AI, I notice when I start (usually 5 or 7 k), its a bunch of scissors, until we get down in weeds (I like the Okinawa map so its the sea).

And once down there, I use flaps and careful throttle, I can get on their six to close in.

They will do this weird barrel roll (but its not a true barrel roll) and seem to fly so they get off plane just enough so you'll miss.

Then I just wait until they do a hard turn and go for the deflection shot.

Only time I really can nail them when they are doing that "barrel" roll is with the FW 190 or Chaika since they roll faster and can keep up.

I find that the best way to deal with AI 'barrel rolls' in most situations is to just let them do it. They bleed off so much energy that you can then manoeuvre for another pass, or at least be confident that they are out of the dogfight for enough time for you to deal with the next attacker.

    Yeah.
You gotta be fair shooter especially in planes with lower amount of ammo because you wont be able to get multiple bandits.
It is very wise to not shoot at all if you don't think you have at least 90% chance to hit (I haven't been that disciplined on track, I admit).

I just made a track Bf-109 vs 4 spits, no wingmen.
My flying & shooting is pretty rusty because I don't fly fighters that much anymore, so I almost ran out of ammo before I got all spits.
With FW it should be considerably easier.
But track shows the way how to do it.
    3 things.
Patience, flying 10-20 from the ground and decent head on gunnery (not really tough).
If you have these req's there should be no probs to destroy even more than 4 solo bandits/sortie.
