Mine hit at 310dmg and decimated everything. One shot kills got boring so quick. Took a couple screen shots & went back to using my other builds.

    What specialization are you using?

The highest I have is 250k and I specced into shotties via the specialisation tree, but it doesn't one shot yellows or elites as that can take upto 5 shots and that is with Optimist rolled onto it -- which you should try by the way as it will increase your damage significantly and rapidly on a low ammo weapon like this.

premeditaded is what u wanna have on a shotty as it gives u up to 85% more damage. combine this with berserk and have a blast! my 870 hits for 460k per shot :P

It's good on the double barrel as it can be loaded and fired rapidly but as that buff lasts for only ten seconds I wouldn't say it was as good on other shotties. Optimist always operates and on low ammo count weapons the damage ramps up fast. It might be better on paper with hard numbers but my experience of use led me to choose optimist over premeditated. Also, as a skill build player, Premeditated is kind of a no no.

Gunner I believe, I logged off and shut down everything but will pull the screen shot & upload after some sleep.

i get what ur saying but the 870 only has 5 "rounds" in the mag which can be reloaded very quickly if u have the right mods unlocked. it has 2 mod slots which can give u a total of 30% reload speed bonus and if u roll jazz hands on it, another +10% which makes 40%. also the base damage of the 870 is a lot higher than the double barrel´s since the last patch what makes it by far the best shotty in slot

You're either incredibly lucky on your weapon damage rolls, or not using compensated. Either way, yeah the 870 hurts.

It's a great shotty, no doubt. I have three of them across builds with different talents for whatever set they end up in. It's my new favourite since TU5. Shotguns got some life breathed back into them I guess talents and stuff come down to preference and build choices.
