    Developer Update: Get In Range

    Hey everyone! It’s Toller, back again with this week’s Developer Update! Today I’ve got news on the latest Challenge mode, a new Stream day, and information on some highly anticipated card releases. Let’s get into it!




    THIS WEEK

    CHALLENGE MODE

    This week we’ll be celebrating Ranged units in Phone Destroyer, including in our weekly Challenge Mode! This week introduces the Long Shot Challenge! Be they bombs, arrows, or others, any unit who deals in ranged attacks will be blessed with twice the standard range! Of course, such power comes at a price, and in this case that price is dealing half damage. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this play style. Huge thanks to everyone who has shared feedback with us about Challenge Mode so far. If you have yet to let us know what you think, please feel free to get in touch!


    As range is all the rage this week, we thought it would be the perfect time to expand the release of our two most recent ranged units! As of the event's start, Bounty Hunter Kyle will be available through free packs, and Blood Elf Bebe will be available in both PvP packs and lockers!





    RANGERS EVENT

    This weekend’s event will also focus on some of our favorite Ranged unit! We have chosen one ranged unit from each theme to be represented in this event and have also lowered the total event requirements. The cards will include:

    • Terrance Mephesto
    • Gunslinger Kyle
    • Robo Bebe
    • Angel Wendy
    • Catapult Timmy


    This weekend’s event will run from Friday(UTC) to Monday(UTC).

    Win matches with these cards in your deck to earn points and claim your reward packs! The point requirements are as follows:

    As we mentioned last week, we have been working hard on our next balance changes. The goal of this is to make Epic and Legendary cards feel more powerful, as their rarity implies.
    In order to do this, we are making some changes to the overall scaling of both Epics and Legendaries (and to rares, to a smaller extent). As this is targeting entire groups of rarities and not any individual cards, we’ll be looking for feedback from the Community to see which cards will be the focus of the follow-up balance patch (which will come at the beginning of the next season). We will of course have some ideas in mind, based on our own data and playtesting, but we want to hear from you as well!

    The exact numbers are still being finalized, so in order to get the details to all of you we plan on putting out a special Tuesday edition of the Developer Update next week. Keep an eye out for it!

    DEVELOPER STREAM

    Heads up! We wouldn’t want you to miss this week’s Developer Live-Stream because it will not be on Friday! Instead we’ll be hanging out this Thursday at 9:15 AM PST/12:15 PM EST, so that we can play some challenges for you! Join ItsJustBuck and BlueBadger400 on the couch and hang out with me in chat! There will be gameplay fun, questions and answers, and of course, giveaways galore!




    One last thing to mention: During next Monday, August 13th, there will be maintenance performed on some Ubisoft Services. We don’t expect downtime for South Park: Phone Destroyer, but there could be periods of instability, so please be aware of that. The maintenance will run from 8am to 12pm UTC.

    Not Medusa Bebe. I think she's already powerful enough as it is.

    How about AWESOM-O? At 5-cost he needs to be buffed to warrant epic. Could be any number of things from increased health, more attach, longer freeze time for charge ability, but @ 5-cost he is unplayable.

    Similarly Program Stan should have somewhere between 3-5 second freeze vs. his 2-seconds now. Health & Attack are fine but ability is lacking for an Epic.

    Hi Toller Thank you for the update!

    A few of us were wondering what is going to be done about Adventure Locked accounts. With the new buff's more and more people will Adventure Lock to get their epics up to 5 very quickly, It already happens now but with a buff could get worse. Any information?

    Agree with Demonliez. Medusa is pretty week in damage at max level 3 compared to other range units

    Hi Ubi-Toller, thank you for the update.

    I agree with Zeusdonkey in relation to Awesomo, another epic card that I think should be reviewed is Kenny cyborg because I think it´s spend too much energy compared to Princess keny..

    I'll check into what this could mean for Adventure Locked accounts, Hersh.

    That's great about Legendaries and Epics getting a buff! Especially now that we have Challenge Mode, maybe we can start using them more, because let's face it, lvl 1 Legendaries (with the exception of Mecha Timmy and to some extent Stan of Many Moons) and lvl 2 Epics are severely underpowered when matched up against lvl 4 Commons.
