Rocksmith is a music video game produced by Ubisoft, released in October 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms in North America. Rocksmith was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during September 2012 in Australian and European markets and October 2012 in Japan. A Windows version was released on October 16, 2012 after several delays. Based on the technology in the unreleased project Guitar Rising, the game's main focus is the unique feature that allows players to plug in virtually any electric guitar and play.

Yep. I started playing April 2011, on my 46th birthday, 6monthslater ,RS was launched in the US ,so Iimported it on PS3, then bought it again on 360 when it was released in the UK (subsequently bought the PC version, then 2014 on 360, followed by the PC version and the One version) so rapidly approaching my 6 year anniversary of picking up a guitar. The fact that I've stuck with it so long (and why I have no money, 9 guitars, 3 amps and 939 tracks later) is largely down to Rocksmith

I started taking lessons in Dec 2010, then bought Rocksmith and an XBox360 in Dec/11 because I was tired of waiting on the PC version. When the PC version came out, I sold the XBox360 and all my Rocksmith content to that point and my account to a friend at work and went 100% PC. Sadly I missed a free pack but I have every song since then. I'm certainly a better player due to Rocksmith and my continued taking of lessons. Good job Rocksmith Team!

I had to leave before the mother load dropped, but during the stream I started thinking about the winner needing to report the approx. $3500 value of this prize as income on their taxes.

Congrats to the winner. Hopefully it was one of our esteemed forumites!
