Went looking for I~152 with ramjets, and found this thing instead...

Bi~6...a Bi~1 rocket with ramjets. This could work.

Wouldn't really be hp, it would be KwH or lbs/thrust, as the ramjets or pulse jets add nothing to the piston engine's output. I looked in my "Complete book of Fighters" and "The Mustang Story" and I can't find mention of either plane, sorry.

Pulse Jets not ram jets, two completly different things chaps, ram jets can only work at speeds above 650mph

They arent photoshopped, I know both were successful in testing but I dont know if they were ever used.

I seen the LA7 varient have a pulsejet in the tail but read that the airframe was too weak, after 2 crashes the project was closed

I also seen on discovery wings that there were two prototypes of the T182 that were unaccounted for, some old german guy said who was apparently a part of the program. They said russia supposably has them both.

Hard to say. Jets are measured in thrust not horsepower but Im sure is some kind of conversion utility available.

The Australians fitted a P51 with a Dart Turboprop but they never flew it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Also during the Vietnam War they explored bringing the P51 back into production and Piper installed a Turboprop in a rebuilt and redesigned Aircraft, it was called the Piper Enforcer but never took off really, although some where built and still exist................ Power = thrust x speed.

Various conversion constants will need to be applied to convert into the familiar hp, KW or PS that we normally use for piston engines.

Since the pulse jets looks very much like Argus As 014, I will asume that thrust produced by the 2 pulse jets is 2 x 750lb = 1500lb (which means decent power, Jumo 004 max thrust was 1980lb, and this plane has also the Merlin engine).

If you want to convert to HP (even though it is useless) you have to choose the speed range.

Let's say we are interested in total HP produced by the 2 pulse jets in the 100-400mph (146-587ft/sec) speed range:

thrust(lb) = 550 * power(hp) / speed(ft/sec)

(units of measurement in parenthesis)

that means that the total power produced by the two pulsejets is 400hp at 100mph and rises to 1600hp at 400mph

The max speed of such a pulse jet equiped Mustang in ideal conditions (Merlin can be used at max power in conjunction with pulse jets and we are ignoring the strong pulse jets vibration) would be close to 500mph at sea level, and probably sligthly lower at high alt (due to compressibility).

I'm sorry but this is incorrect. Only today's ramjets are made for supersonic speed range, because they are missle engines, but during ww2 and imediately afterwards they were tested as fighter engines in subsonic range. Pabst ramjet was a fully developed ramjet, tested by Focke-Wulf. It was fully throttleable (stable burning) at speeds above 300kmh. It produced 1850lb thrust, almost like a Jumo 004. It was not used on first generation of german jet interceptors only because ramjets do not develop static thrust (compared to rocket, pulsejet and turbojet engines) so it needed a rocket engine for take-off. Many designs of such interceptors were made though.

The ramjet atached to that Mustang has a much smaller intake diameter so start speed is most probably over 500kmh. Such ramjets were tested everywere after the war, but interest was lost soon, when turbojet engine became a fully proven powerplant, reliable, powerful and relatively fuel efficient (especially compared with other jet engines), at the beginning of the '50's.
