This feature is very much appreciated http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Last night I was hit in the wing and had to nurse my FW190A-5 back to base - it was much more realistic than in the past. The handling characteristics seemed to be in proportion to the amount of damage inflicted.

Thanks again for this feature.

I hope fans of FW will not kill me for that, becasue it isn't now like the whole pice of armor. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (except wings http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

I think everyone who is interested in more accuracy will be very happy (as I am) with the complex damage model for the FW190 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I enjoy the added immersion of working hard to get a damaged fighter back to base with holes in the wings. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/93.gif

Agreed.
The 190 feels much more realistic with the new damage model.

Thanks.

Hey, Im a 190 fan, and I like the DM!

You may want to look at your numbers though, my revi gets shot out a lot more than in the 109, it may be too much, it may be realistic, I dont claim to know.

At least now I cant take hundreds of hits with nothing wrong, then one hit kills me. When I am damaged I know, and can try to escape.

Before the "Paper Wing" effect acted like that game I played as a kid. Put staws in a camels back until it collapses. 50 straws, no collapse, one more and boom.. heh That's how it was in 1.22, now it's realistic IMHO

I have only one issue and that is any tap to the front of the 190 seems to knock the sight off alignment. I think the groundcrews need to tighten some bolts.

The DM is much more realistic, thanks Oleg! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

That's great news and a big improvment http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I must agree that the new CDM is very nice, minus the revi constantly getting shot out.

In the past the lack of CDM could make you overconfident because you knew that damage effects were random and at other times it could make you timid because the slightest hit might take a wing off.

The biggest issue was the chipped paint drop in performance, I'm happy to say now that this appears to be a thing of the past. As FW190fan mentioned, you can see damage in proportion now and have a better sense of what is wrong with the plane...thats a very nice improvement indeed.

I'll take realistic over simple any day of the week, I'd rather the plane be predictable even if that means getting shot down more. Besides, sometimes luck of the draw gave the FW an unfair advantage and sometimes it gave it an unfair disadvantage.

Thanks Oleg for the CDM http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Exactly what Zen said, especially about chipped paint thing. I posted about the gunsight getting knocked off too often thing but I don't think there was a reply.

Did you guys notice the cool damage effects on cockpit panels? Shattered gauges, compass shot out, one time the whole mid panel was even tilted as if the whole thing was knocked loose. Sweet. Thanks for complex DM Oleg, well done.

I did notice that, looks great. My only complaint about that (as funny as it sounds) is that judging by what dials get hit on the panel, along with the shattered Revi...shouldn't my virtual pilot be riddled with virtual bullets too? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Really...look at the shot dispersion, it makes you wonder, though in this case I will write it off to backseat armor.

Interesting, I think it also happens with the Hurri. Get shot a lot and you see a bullet hole in one of the rudder pedals. Shouldn`t you at least be wounded from having your toes/foot shot off?

Not a complaint, just an observation.

No, I haven't noticed this as I don't seem to get shot up as much as you guys do http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

Really interesting stuff fellas, love hearing it. Can't wait to try it out myself. Regarding the instrument panel, I was just thinking of this the other day, as I hadn't noticed that happening for a long time. I am positive that in the past (probably Il-2) it happened quite often, the best 'type' of damage was imho when a guage simply stopped working even without 'physical bullet holes'. My favorite back then was the 'stuck' artificial horizon, as it jived almost exactly with an account (I believe) from a FW190 pilot in Norway in bad weather with stuck AH. Extremely immersive, sounds like we now have similar with AEP. Beauty.

The revi IS getting shot out a lot more in fw190 now. It's bordering on stupid.

It is getting shot out with attacks from my rear and about 80% of the time I lose the revi.

Something is very wrong with the damage model.

fw190 is probably accounted for 90% of the gunsights getting shot out online. It's bad enough with the gunsight working as it is.
