Edit: let's leave discussion of the patch until we have the final version available. It wont be much longer.

I haven't got it myself, but Squadmates tell me there is no need for my Wurgerwhiner sig anymore /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

someone will always whine about something.... I suggest you leave your sig so others can whine about it

I've got it (Beta 8) but I only flew the FW a couple of times in FB, very briefly - just to see what all the forward-view noise was about - so I couldn't tell you whether it's been changed for the better, or the worse, or at all.

The only thing I can tell you about the FW in Beta 8 is that, like all its predecessors, it responds very satisfyingly to a few rounds of 37mm. up the gazookus.

I never really flew the FW-190 that much before the patch either, but it has definately been improved. In test08 it can now out turn most Russian aircraft at high speeds, however it bleeds speed quickly like that. It also stalls very violently, very quickly, but then so do most of the other aircraft too. Stalls are very easy to recover from now as well. The 20mm cannons seem about the same as before, and the 13mm's seem to be a little more effective, not too much. I'd say that it seems pretty realistic now, but you still can't, (and probably never will) be able to turn with Russian aircraft.

I flew a QMB with 4 Late D-9s against four La-7s and I could totally leave them behind, choosing when to fight.
I could outdistance them so easily it was scary, quite frankly. And as everyone knows, the La-7 has a high top speed. But if I tried to knife fight them, usually they won. But if I used my speed to engage/disengage them and sort of BnZ'd them, they were at my mercy.

The Fw190 has a better climb, and dive now. high speed stalls can be tricky.

Not sure why anybody thinks they can outrun an La7. They both have the same top speed.

The climb between the D9 and La7 is the same now. The big difference is how they break apart in the dive.

Break up speed.

D9...930 km/h
La7..680 km/h

Hey Buzz,
How about that bug in the CEM.
Does prop pitch work right in all 190 models now?
Or do you run it on auto.

It works now. Prop pitch is different in the patch. It's much easier to use now.
