I recently got into FB after years of Jet simming and I am really having a good time online.
My question to those in the know is will there be any chance of seeing US Naval aircraft like the F6F Hellcat or F4U Corsair in FB?
I figured since the KI84 and A6M are currently in FB that maybe a couple of US Pacific aircraft would be nice.
Oh and a Carrier to land on would be nice to.lol http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Maybe as Royal Navy aircraft. I read somewhere that a RN Hellcat somewhere in the Norwegian Sea (?) shot down a FW-190, one of the rare encounters between these 2 aircraft.

Only one remotely related to a carrier plane is the Brewster B-239 (export variant of the Buffalo, with Finnish equipment.)

I don't know of any other navy planes coming to the game, although we do already have the PBY.

For flyables, the Brewster is it. There are some great USN and USMC skins at IL-2 Skins for it. Of course, once you get past the Battle of Midway, there isn't much use for it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Also RAF, RAAF and Dutch skins if you want to set up a SE Asia campaign in Dynamic Campaign Generator.

The Brewster is very agile and fun to fly.

Welcome, btw http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That's a pretty pic, Badsight, but I still say the canopy is a little wrong and the cockpit is too big http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks guys. Yeah a Corsair would be cool! I realize everyone likes to stick close to historic realism. but I figured since the KI84 and A6M are flyable (and not used in europe) that perhaps a couple of Naval aircraft wouldn't be out of the question to even things out.
Sadly the Buffalo just doesn't have the "balls" that the Hellcat and Corsair didand I just really like the Corsair and Hellcat. I knew it was a long shot when I asked but you never know until you ask right? lol

Actually that cockpit isn't too far off.
