Just did a test with La-5 standard and FW-190A-4 at 6,000m. La-5 could hold about 608-610km/h but would not overheat. The FW-190A-4 could hold about 656km/h with overheat (and manual prop-pitch) and about 637km/h without overheat.

I sent Oleg a track detailing the problem (La-5 could do 624+km/h without overheat & FW-190A-4 could barely get to 648km/h with fast overheat).

Now it seems the numbers are almost spot on, I assume the non overheat is realistic as boost on La-5 ('42) was not supposed to provide boost above 3,500m.

Anyway, I gotta give Oleg and crew alot of credit for this one. Amazing support for an amazing product.

you guys may not realize it, even though they may not always respond, no matter how harshly they're accused of something, there's always someone reading every post from the dev. team I bet.

This is an awesome patch! Its a whole boatload of fun to play!

I kept saying that good things will come to those who wait! We waited and we got something REALLY good!

I agree, if you can find and issue and send a clear example (like a track) to Oleg & co. they will try and fix it.

In my experience, I know if I send a bug report in and get an e-mail back it is because I've done a bad job of illustrating the problem- and Oleg takes it seriously that someone might have found an issue that needs fixing.

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall

Look Noobie, we already told you, we don't have the Patch!

Hey Zen, good to see you.

I've been bogged down with work so I only have a little time with patch (all 1 day and a half of it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif). I am doing some speed testing and such so I know where I need to run too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. My initial impressions are that the A-9 is about the same, it still feels alot heavier than other versions but no big deal. I really like the A-6, it's not much different than the A-5 but it is a FW so I have to love it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Probably just patch hysteria but the A-6 seems to hold its speed pretty well. The Ta-152 seems alot better in terms of speed and acceleration. A-4 seems about the same, as I noted it seems to have gotten a minor boost up high which is nice. D-9 still feels fast and seems to handle better. It seems like the stall was toned down in all the 190's (which is/would be nice) but it is more noticeable in Dora. Someone suggested that blackouts occur earlier in the 190 now and it seemed that way to me a little. I was wondering if you noticed that? Like I said, it could just be new patch delusions. So what do you think of the Dora or other 190's?

edit: to say that the 190 is much more forgiving at low/near stall speeds, at least in vertical maneuvers. This is good news.

Salute to Oleg, some things he didn`t do (like the Hurri-bomber, new planes in offline campaign ), but a great patch in general.

I will continue to ask for these things as usual. Here`s a pic to celebrate the stronger guns. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
