Heya, since the forums always lack selfcentered opinions from gamers who are always right, I wanted to correct it :)

Just wanted to say my two bits about AC:U, in case someone at Ubisoft was interested and had time to read all my shajt :)

While i like the game (I own all the previous titles except for Rogue, and like them a lot)and the story is ok, I have to say that generally it is very dissapointing. I did not enjoy Black Flag much, not cuz of the story or gameplay, simply because i do not like pirates much, i was excited to be in Paris and to have a story that seemed like a sort of a love story, that is supposed to blurt the lines of assasins and templar conflict. What we got is a bit wierd tho. From what i saw in the trailers and blogs etc, you were very proud of the graphics, AI, remade combat and new free running system, (and multiplayer which i could not care less about) if that is not correct, i apologize, but i feel like all of these are dissapointing with the combat and running system being catastrophic. Graphics in some places are jaw dropping, really amazing, just like in the trailers, but in other places, they seem oddly washed out and murky, and I am playing the game on Ultra.
The AI of enemies and NPCs is dissapointing to sell the least, they let me jump on them, I get stuck, they dont move an inch etc, enemies are sometimes even worse. I know it is hard to make games noawadays seem real, especially with the improving graphics, but rather give us less of a graphic wow and concentrate on these kinda things, it sucks because it breaks any immersion that you build up thanks to the amazing graphics and thanks to design.

And of course the combat, I am surely not the first and hopefully not the last to say, it sucks A and two S, I see what you were trying to go for, but daaaaaaaaaaamn, someone as much as glances your way and you right away abandon your "kill that guy with hidden blade" set of mind and you get out your sword and attack guy across the room filled with bad guys, you have no clue how frustrating and stupid that looks, plays and feels. Give us normal hidden blade back, give us the chance to finish the job and vanish, like an assasins would. If you do not want us to use hidden blades as normal weapons, make them worse than sword, give us some rudamentary RPG elements for the weapons and make them worth a damn, do not force us to use normal blade, epspecially like this. Or make hidden blades break if you use them too much for actual combat and make them cost a fortune to repair, people will think about it more than. I get that its supposed to go back to AC 1, but even there it was better, we love hidden blades, and now its like you do not even have them. the combat sucks altogether, you went for realism over enjoyment. I like that its harder, and enjoy the design of the missions now, the options on how to approach the infiltration and kill are great, its just that as soon as you mess up, not perform a prefect kill and go into combat, you can restart right away, its just gonna be boring and frustrating, not to mention that you can click your mouse to death, but Arno just refuses to attack any faster, any less artistically, as if his life did not depend on that, for christ sake o.O its not dynamic at all.

And of course, running mechanics, they seem to be a bit of a problem in every AC game, but honestly, up until now i had very little problems. AC Black Flag in this, was golden as oposed to AC:U, i know that it was like cuz there were virtually no real buildings to get stuck on, but in AC:U its just about impossible to turn and get into open doors on first try in full sprint, running around inside buildings is even worse, since you have the "hide" mechanic now. Arno jumps in wierd angles, to elsewhere than my camera is angled etc, the usual stuff, but actually worse now. To put it in perspective, i never have even thought about this as a problem, altho in AC III i did sometimes jumped really amusingly right infront of my target, but now i am actually writing awfully long post about this, so yea, its bad.

In any case, I like AC games, just get back to what made them good, interesting story, great gameplay, forget about phone apps and gazilion of absolutely pointless collectibles, if you have to have them, at least make them somewhat related to the story (like feathers in AC II) Even much smallers world can seem big when done right, and this is just draged out world full of nothing but chets you cant open unless you like this on facebook, have friend above level 10, have the app on phone, have golden toilet and so on and so forth.

If you are still here, thanks for reading :)

So after playing it for a few more hours (im up to around 25 or so now) I conclude that this is the worst AC title to be put out. Arno gets frequently stuck to objects around him, cant co up a normal ledge unles i move him to right or left which is a real problem if I am trying to go into an open window and Arno is just helplesly looking around as if I was trying to make him jump into a grand canyon. The combat seems completely random, sometimes i just look at the enemy, not doing anything and only pressing parry button and he still does not parry, and sometimes he parries a guy that he is turned with his back to. Just incredible. I was never particualarly great at the free running, but man its the worst its ever been here. The sight of the guards is ridiculous too, i have no problem fighting a few of them, but you attack one in secrecy and everyone in the compoud gets aggroed to you. I dont know if I am the only one having these issues. The game is insanely easy, the combat is a laught, the only part that makes a bit hard sometimes is the friking control, Arno just upity ups and puts his sword away sometimes as i am trying to roll away, and he hugs the nearest couch or wall or whatever, sometimes completely ignores or at least delays my commands. As I mentioned, I have played all the previous AC titles, having cleared AC II, Brotherhood and Revelations on 100% synch and this is just incredibly awkward to get used to and make it actually work and look ok.
And for all its next gen graphic glory, the loading distance of some of the buildings is awful, as in, it looks like AC II sometimes, you get 50 meters away from the building and it doesnt even have windows anymore, and I am playing on Ultra... Usually the more i play AC games the more i like them, having better understanding of the story and the all the gameplay elements, this one tho, i hate more and more...

Making an AC game every year is not possible

Actually it is, what i mean is its not possible in a playable state and to a good standard.

You cannot create these huge open world games year after year and expect them to work well, GTA V took 5 years to make, looks like AC:Victoria is another regurgitated rehash that will be plagued with the same issues Unity has.

If ubisoft dont stop the annual AC games, we will never see a decent AC game again

You started out well, making a couple of good points, but don't worry...you'll get better at playing the game.

I disagree on what you said about the combat, since for me it's an improvement 100%. The fact that you can't use the hidden blade in combat, well, it's not supposed to be used in combat right? Just stealthily.
Besides, you can kill someone and then leave, you've plenty of tools to do that. Sometimes when someone's getting escorted and I need to get rid of him, I use the firecrackers (don't know if that's the name, quite sure it's not), distract the other guards far away and get my objective.

Nonetheless, I agree on the fact that AC Companion is ********. Mainly because I paid 150 for the Guillotine Edition (never again) and I can't unlock chests because I don't have a f***ing Android Tablet, a damn iPad or a damn iPhone. Because you know why? I don't like them. And that's locking content that I PAID FOR. AC Initiates is another pointless stupid feature which never works. Microtransactions... well... really?

Not gonna get into technical issues, because this post would be five times longer.
Ubisoft disappointed me hard because of this game, and I'm not going to buy anything else from them. Guess I'll become a pirate like Edward.

... I get that its supposed to go back to AC 1, ...

In AC 1, we can use the hidden blade in combat as a counter-kill weaponry ... albeit, unable to block like in ACII ~ ACIV, we can use it in combat. Thus stated, how is Assassin's Creed Unity even remotely go back to AC 1? ... by giving us one blade instead of two? ... seriously?
