I just got a 980 and still getting drops from 60fps with soft shadows on, I really think this game could do with another patch.

plus the game is awesome at 50 fps or even without soft shadows if you prefer 60 fps

It's not AC without poor optimization. ;)

Honestly, I'd turn off soft shadows. Not only does the game look better, it runs a lot smoother.

I had this "bug" too, you have to put down the PhysiX and stable 62fps with 780.

Yep overcloacked 970 had to drop soft shadows AA SMAA physx was out of question and i was still droping below 60 FPS from time to time hilarious how unoptimized ubi games are.

I firstly played this game with an evga classy 780, sold it and bought one MSI 970 (the card with I finished the game) and no framedrop or nothing strange, 62fps and everything maxed out except physix, that was on off (shadows in high).

But... I have an 144Hz monitor and the game is capped to 62 vsync off, dont know if that matters.
Sorry for my really bad english :D

Have you heard about the guy that is getting 120fps and for some reason he gets drops down to 100fps!! Would be terribly upset, too!

use rivatuner utility .. called d3doverrider .. make a profile for ac4 .. set everything to high .. tripple buffering on .. and try playing ac4 .. it did wonders for the game ..
