Ok, I have on many occasions overclocked my PC to 2.7GHZ and even upped the core one level with nary a hitch.

One problem. I SEE NO DIFF at all in performance. If anything it is slightly slower.

Someone please explain. (no sarcasm please) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

See you in the fence....

Asus P4B 533 Intel 2.4GHZ
1 GIG Ram
GeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.64)
SB Audigy

Looking at your system specs I see no reason why your overclocking isn't giving you better performance. Yet, on the other hand and considering your system - why would you need to overclock. That system should run any thing out there well - as is - even IL2 FB/Aces. I have a 2.0 Athlon and a Ti 4200 with 1 gig of memory and I can run IL2 FB/Aces at 1152 x 864 with lots of planes in the air and with no problem. You should be getting that kind of performance from your rig or even better.

OC'ing will only get your 5-10% more power. That relates to about 10-15 FPS more in any game. Unless you want to go extreme and get nitrogen cooled and clock it to 4.5ghz or something. I dont see the use in OCing because people buy cheap CPUs to OC them to death but spend the extra $$$ on colling. Just buy a faster CPU and enjoy the longer life of the CPU.
