Looks like a very recent poll has been issued by Ubisoft. A user took a picture of the settings listed (note that some of these have been in previous Ubisoft polls. There are some new ones however)

- Overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution
- Korea, Siege of Busan (1592)
- The Cold War with US and Russian nuclear submarines (or US destroyers)
- Egyptian Empire
- Joan of Arc's battles and rise of the Black Death during the Hundred Years War.
- Viking's Voyages to America in the 11th Century.
- A futuristic setting
- Invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors
- Violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China
- The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England
- Warlord Battles of Feudal Japan
- Roman Empire.

I'm guessing this poll has arisen for the simple fact that the Unity team may be starting development on an AC game a few years down the line, and will use a setting from this list. With that said, some of these settings will already be in development (as evident with AC Victory using Vic England).

It does look like they are paying close attention to our desired settings though, especially the Viking and Cold War settings. I think they're just ticking off people's favourite settings simultaneously. American Revolution, French Revolution, Victorian England. I'm expecting Egypt, China/Japan to come next, although we must remember that they still have plenty of assets in Unity for the Hundred Years War.

What are your thoughts and what is your most desired setting here?

I would not take this face value .

This is not the first time Ubisoft have done a poll based on what settings fans would like to see .

Its the studios that ultimately make the decisions .

Personally I would not expect the Far east because its far too cliche and Ubisoft designers have stated in numerous podcasts and interviews they would prefer to explore locations that are unique and
have never been done before .

The Ottoman Empire, The Renaissance and the American Revolution are good examples of these design principles .

I think it's cool for Ubisoft to make polls like these, however I'd really like it more if Ubisoft made these polls public or something.
As for my favourite settings, I'd love to have the Siege of Busan or Medieval China. I would have said Feudal Japan too, but after reading that, at that time, the streets were too wide and the buildings too tiny, I have to say no to that setting.

Kinda surprised about "A futuristic setting" though. Not really sure if I'd want something like that.

The Egyptian Empire and a futuristic setting.

I wouldn't be too surprised at a Far East game- I just wouldn't expect it to be Japan. I could see Ubisoft doing the Siege of Busan, once they get more confident in the next gen engine.

Absolutely Agree with the development side of things .

As much as unity was a huge leap forward in terms of the gameplay engine There are still signs that they have not quite used the PS4 and XONE architecture to its full potential .

There is actually a similar list in an abstergo email in black flag.

I think we will see a game focused on Joan of Arc titled "Phoenix"in the near future.

In black flag, you hear other employees talking about getting in trouble when trying to access these memories, hear about something called the phoenix project, and even see a book with the title on the shelf.

Also the fact that Joan of Arc was burned at the stake... Phoenix... possible connection?
I may be mistaken, but wasn't she supposedly lead to a sword by an angel? Piece of Eden anyone?

Numbered them in order of what I would want. Cold War just because I'm curious how they would do it. The rest I'm not picky about. Korea for number 1 because it's not something I know a lot about but it's a far east setting which is what I want.

To be honest I'm almost certain in the next 5 years they will cover England, China and Egypt. After that I can only guess. Perhaps Medieval Europe, like the Joan of Arc. After all they have some assets from Unity they can use, and it's a setting people would be interested in.

Thinks like the Cold War and a futuristic setting I'd rather they put in W_D. There are endless interesting historical locales+ time periods that they could make 30 games and still have heaps to do. I'd rather they use history, and let other games use Cold War + Futuristic. Not saying they're bad settings (very interested in Cold War), but I just think they're better suited to W_D, which is pretty much a modern AC.

Joan of Arc's sword was a sword of eden, which we've known since the Subject 16 puzzles in AC2.
'Phoenix' refers to Abstergo's project to sequence First-Civ genome; so its meaning in-universe is pretty much fixed.

Considering Ubi and AC current status of the most hated company and franchise respectively. And Feudal Japan overall perception by like 85% of the people over internet outside this forum as the second coming of Jesus Christ in terms of potential settings CAUSE NINJAS .Dont ask me why though because IŽll never, ever understand the big fuss about it. I think is pretty plausible to assume that setting will be happening, eventually.......

In terms of the poll, expect the unexpected, for NOBODY saw Italian renaissance, Ottoman Constantinople and the golden Age of Piracy coming.

Oh! China and the 100 years war are my picks, by the way.

By 'futiristic' do they even mean modern day? You'd think they would just say Present Day.

Maybe they're referring to a TWCB setting? I'd love a TWCB city, the art style and architecture in the Temples is gorgeous and fascinating. The glimpses we've got of the city from the Truth videos and that cinematic from Revelations always made me want to explore that era. It would be the change up the series needs to be honest. If not for full game, maybe just some sections in between - it could replace the modern day and instead of looking into past event we view the future using The Eye as some have suggested. I've said I don't like the TWCB being in the series, but the locations I've always been compelled by. If you think about it, a game set in that era would be one of the most original ever.

Do I spy future setting?

http://static.fjcdn.com/large/pictures/bc/e9/bce9bb_4487353.jpg

Hell yeah.

A futuristic setting is ENTIRELY possible.

TOWCB used probability to determine the future and adjust their actions accordingly. Their probabilities are EXTREMELY precise.

We could very easily "see" the future using the devices TOWCB used.

I see it now.

Assassin's Creed Descendants.

P.S. I love how the illustration has the assassin with a cigarette. its like lmfao its still in use 345893759 years in the future

"The fact is it wouldn't matter. It's ****ing ninja's m8, get it. I mean come on, it's ****ing ninja's man."

AC: Memories has covered old games and some of their characters, it also has France and includes De Moley(Unity). Two English Assassins during the Third Crusade(Victory), Sengoku Period(Japan) and Mongolian Empire.

It might hint future settings. We already got two.

Korea sounds intriguing, it's a setting no-one has suggested before and not hugely famous to mainstream audiences. I would love to go to a country that's been so little explored in games.

Joan of Arc would be cool for a badass female protagonist.

Roman Empire: YES PLEASE.

As interesting as the era might be historically, I don't think a Viking setting would work for AC. Not many tall buildings to climb around nor huge cities.

I have suggested Korea more than once actually.

There is fantastic fan art from a man named Jason Kang. It's the Japanese occupation of Korea, and his main character is a Korean woman. It looks great. Too modern though...

I've seen that fanart before, the theme is the Japanese invasion during World War II, the one in this survey is the invasion in the XVI century.

I'd rather not have anything "futuristic" in AC, other than occasional modern day missions or having the bleeding effect/ using memory seals to view memories of first civilization inhabitants

So futuristic means First Civ, right? I'd totally be up for that. I feel Ubi have lost touch with AC's roots & this would bring them back to the original concept again.
