I've just had a chat with a my friend who works in the gaming business that he has heard Infograme is planning on EAW II.

They say that in the light of IL-2's success in WWII sims, they are working towards building something that will rival IL-2 FB. (After all, IL-2 was largely inspired by EAW).

I could not find any, obviously, articles relased discussing this matter yet.

I am not sure, although my friend is quite reliable, whether this information is true or not.

Does anybody heard about EAW II coming out? or even in a planned stage?

Just wanna know what to expect in coming years...

for 2 years all we had was IL2 & CFS2 then CFS3 & FB

now were getting a down right glut of sims

who dares say the sim market is low on popularity !!!!!

This would be amazing news if it can be confirmed. EAW was amazing for it's time and still has many features sims today don't have. IL2 used many of the features that made EAW great. I would absolutely love a sequel to EAW....

I wanna see PAWII. If true, then EAW should go South. To the Pacific. Not that I'm complaining, but with IL2 doing BoB, (the fifteenth remake of that particular campaign), someone needs to do the cotton pickin Pacific!

Finally, something to give UBI something to worry about.

I allways felt Tie Advanced bit overmodelled in Tie fighter.. I could easily outturn an A-wing /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Not having played it, what elements of EAW make it (still) a great game?

the number of planes in the air for one. you can edit it up to several hundred at least.

I'm a crappy pilot, but one hell of a shot.

LOL Vipez. A long time ago I made a thread titled "a rare audio flyby clip of Yak-3." I put what I thought was a link to a TIE fighter sound clip but it didn't work. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Anyway, EAW II would be amazing. I would be very happy to hear that this is planned.

It's the atmosphere, guys. EAW had it in spades. Jane's WWII Fighters had it in spades.
CFS2 and CFS3 have it. IL-2 had it. FB doesn't. IMHO.

I'd buy it in a New York minute. Hope the rumors are true.
