1) Do not venture far beyond the boundary, if at all.
2) When engaging an enemy always drag the fight towards your base.
3) Never chase an enemy towards their base even if he is damaged.
4) When you get hit or run out of ammo, bail out right away. make sure you are within your territory first. if you are outside, turn towards base right away, and bail out as soon as you are within your boundary.
5) Hit refly right away after bailing out to avoid getting chute-shot.
6) Chute shoot enemy pilots who bail out, but only if they bail out in their territory. No need to waste ammo shooting them when they bail out in your area since they will be captured anyway.
7) don't bother to land, especially if you have been hit. just bail out. don't risk crashing on landing and get counted as killed.
8) Be careful during take-off. taxi slowly. and hit refly if you see vulchers around your base.

good luck.

Nothing better to fight get a kill or a target and bringing back the plane home and land.
Even if the plane is shot and have a hard time to stay in the sky.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's just a personal thing.

Uh-huh.

It's interesting... The deathkick option was intended to simulate a higher level of realism -
But now we get advice like - "don't bother trying to land"

Kinda misses the point http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

I will forget all the above (well allmost all) ASAP.

The one rule for me is : Have Fun !
If that means me getting killed - well it's a game, and in the deathkick-time I can smoke a cigarette or drink a beer http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif not that bad...

If you do what is said above - like jumping, respawning whenever you see a bandit near your base, then the deathkick will not accomplish what it's supposed to...

Namely TEAMPLAY, and an incentive to bring your plane BACK to base...

If you didn't get this - then you missed an important part of playing online http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If you failed to notice each team has a plane count, so I'll never waste a plane if its landable. Sounds like you just don't have the patience to fly your crate home. Plus I don't mind being rewarded full points especially after a multi-kill sortie. I also don't have time to be shooting chutes, too many enemy planes are around most of the time to waste a pass on that. Overall most of your points aren't bad. Last night was fun on Warclouds I just love guys who fly over the base at 500m thinking there gonna get some vulch kills, those are the best.

Did anyone see that or was it just me?

well, i thought the intentions were to discourage suicidal attacks and give other people a chance to join the server. Deathkick is accomplishing both those goals.

if you want people to go back to base and land, then maybe there should be say a half-point penalty for bailing out.

But u do understand the point do u ( yes it should be "you")
It's a little strange to quote a movie about honor and shoot somebody in a chute.
Quess u belong to the bad boys then.

there was a poll before whether chute shooting would be allowed. and more people favored allowing it. it's not a matter of honor. it's a matter of game preference.

I think the original poster didn't mean that his list is how you should fly. I think he is making an attack on the deathkick option. I tend to agree with him. Its stupid. My computer takes a while to load up. I'd be pissed if I had to load up a new server every time I died. I don't play on deathkick servers.

Aflak thanks you are too gracious. Rhett69 is more along the line of my thinking though. Although i wouldn't call my suggestions "cheats". They are just "tips" for how to maximize your playing time.

S!
I have flown on both warclouds servers and just recently the f16 groups server. A big THANK YOU to both for putting in death kick. I think a lot more of the serious "survival" pilots are flying them more and less of the "Quake" style flyers. I have noticed the quality of battles has increased through use of proper tactics and teamwork. Actually makes me feel as if Im back in time, always checking my 6 and i feel on edge all the time. Last night i got a kill in F16 server in the E4, but i lost count of how long i used my guns. Rather then risk staying out with low ammo i flew back to base to rearm. Before i would just shoot till i ran out then ran for home hoping to make it.
On the F16 server it was a 1940 theme invasion of france. E4s versus hurricanes and j8's. Not one e4 pilot was even attempting to turnfight with, boom extend and climb back for another pass. Text book and beautiful. The allied pilots were flying in pairs and trying to drag and bag and succeded a few times.

Overall i think the best way to fly these death kicks is to fly like the pilots did historically, a pilot that lives and can bring his crate home are what is important not the score. I think Hayatekid has good points, but is flying from the perspective of not getting kicked from the server on a FPS mentality.

Love the death kick servers, makes thing a lot more fun.

If you're trying to maximize playing time, what are you doing on a deathkick server?

Fly smart, pick your fights and try not to be alone. That's all you should really need.

P.S. There is a U in honour if you're outside the U.S.

I won't shoot a bailed out pilot. I'll only bail out if my plane is going to be difficult to land (like no elevators.) If you want your team to win you have to try to save your plane. As far as bailing out just because you're out of ammo, that's plain silly. Your other ideas are good.

There is a 'u' in 'honour'. That is, assuming you're speaking English. Nothing wrong with American, it just amuses me to see people correcting someone on something like that. If anything, the English spelling is more correct than the American one.

Hmm sounds like a selfcenterd arcade style of playing to me.

It doesn't reasemble real life at all.

A real pilot will never bail from a healthy aircraft. He might how ever land else where than home base. Deserted airstrip, country road, near farmers daughter. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif On his side of the line, of course.

Enemy side of the line, in real life all of the above. But in here you might aswell be dead, all though, I give the exscape feature a chance anyway. Every now and then I actually do.

Very selfish. If I get deathkicked from the (nearly always full) server it means that some other poor sod can actually have a go.
If you want to stay on a Warclouds type server all night and you aren't good enough to stay alive too long either a) host your own server or b) join a squad and fly with them on their servers, they won't kick you but will help you to learn and fly better.

Sometimes you got to wonder if peoples "trolling motors" ever burn out when they get over used http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

But on a serious note. If you fly as Suggested by the thread starter, you are in for a very boring game IMHO. And also, flying in this matter will do nothing but hinder your teams ability to win missions. Sure everytime you bail, you are saving your life, but you are losing one plane for your team. When I was considering this deathkick option for the War Clouds server, i had realy only one desired effect, pilots working together more as a team and make it risky to fly alone. I think that has been achieved. I enjoy this aspect of the servers a lot now as do many of the players on the servers. If you do not think so, just check the last poll i posted on the subject and you will see that +70% of the players love this new option. Yes this isn't real life, its a game to some. But to me it's all about simulating as close as possible WW2 air battles.

Salute,
I am neither for, nor against, the death kick. However, it has been my observation that a map on these particular servers has never been won by loss/lack of planes. Rather, ground targets are destroyed, or enemy pilots killed.

Jambock_01, no need to take offense, that i pointed out your spelling mistakes. You are somewhat excused since you are not a native english speaker. And actually interchanging "loose" for "lose" is a common mistake even for native english speakers. So don't feel too bad about it.

In English this is how you spell Honour. In America this is how you spell it Honor.
Please take a bit of time before you correct peoples grammer.

There is no honour in that post.
