It can be seen regularly even on FR sripted servers, you are MIA or KIA, just hit refly and you are ready to waste another craft http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (no offence to anyone, I'm sinner too)! What about this: IP adress of anyone who is MIA (captured by opposing force) or KIA is recorded and he is ****d off the server till next map rotation.Of course, those who have DHCP connection can bypass that but nevertheless it would work.
"Kicking off XXX because of KIA, wait till next map rotation" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif, how it sounds?
IMO it will bring more responsible and realistic flying instead of crazy headons, fighting with oiled windscreen or even ramming into bombers....

Altitude, speed, manoeuvre and.... CRASH!

Realistically it is a good idea. Gamewise? Not recommendable in my opinion when it comes to dogfight maps. To clean a map from airplanes just takes too long time. When joining a DF map you are just in for the flying. For such realistic settings as you propose I think VOW or VEF suits better and is already "implemented".

A better idea that many here seem to like...

Team points!

Each team has to reach 1 point per player in order to win the map. A point is scored only when a player has made an air/ ground kill and successfully RTB's.

I put this up for a vote several weeks ago and the majority liked the idea. I had FBMC running on fighterjerks in such a way that ground kills were being counted, but not airkills. I would have kept running it that way but a bug in FBMC was causing the process to die for no reason.

I had thought about writing a new daemon to handle it all, but I just don't have the time.

Biggest problem: Gameplay.

Nobody wants to wait for an hour because they were killed on takeoff by a teammate not looking in the right direction. The point of dogfight servers is generally to provide a fast, fun filled, gameplay environment. Some servers are setup to be faster or slower than others...getting shot down in those frenzies is generally enough http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Co-ops are totally different and I encourage people to play them. They can be a total blast...limping home with a damaged engine or forced to ditch after a protracted fight between teams.

We have that feature and they are called coops.

How about we ask for more coop features that would make them more appealing?
