Dear friendly Earth Peoples, and Ubionioans;
I would humbly submit to you a request concerning the post count.
I dont consider myself a spammer, however I have worked hard at getting my post count over a thousand and as a reward for such, I would like to see a secondary notching system, instead of going from 500 to a 1000 then 2000, please could we have 1500, this way all of us 1000er's could see the light at the end of the tunnel, thanks and I apologize for this long, run on sentence, as my letter writing skills are limited, generally, to posting on the internet.

best regards, Mr. H. Dog

The board's ranking system does seem to require a bit of a face-lift... I am sure we can find something better. Any suggestions?

There are currently 13 ranks:

- Over 5000 Postings
- Over 4000 Postings
- Over 3000 Postings
- Over 2000 Postings
- Over 1000 Postings
- Over 500 Postings
- Over 400 Postings
- Over 300 Postings
- Over 200 Postings
- Over 100 Postings
- Over 50 postings
- Over 10 Postings

I have about 800 posts, and I would like it to to read 800 posts not "over 500 postings".

It'd be nice to have a set of rank titles similar to the other forums on this forum rather than just the 'Over x posts' that we get at the moment. Especially as this forum is so busy.

Like Hawgdog says some more 'stepping' would be nice.

An ideal would be a Rank and post count.

But I guess the forum has limitations.

Besides, what does the post count matter /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

A better idea would be to add the date registered to the profile, sombody that's been here for 2 years and has a fairly good post count but not huge, having only posted in participation of discussions, or to be helpfull should hold way more weight than some idiot that just joined 5 months ago and filled up the forum with stupid one word posts just to up his posts count.

"Your post count proves nothing but how often you post, NOT how intelligent/interesting/useful your posts."

Eaxactly, and that's why the 'over x postings' ranks should be removed. Might encourage spamming and some people with high postcounts think they are cooler than newbies.

Just mentioning the date registered would be o.k., but I prefer the ranks removed so we can only distinguish forum members or mods.

BTW, it's quite annoying this forum is down so much. 7.30 hours ago I couldn't visit the forum.

This is another quintessential element of American noir--the "heroes" are not victims of the psyche; they are knowing actors & when the time inevitably comes to pay for their sins, they accept punishment stoically, knowing that they deserve it for their evil deeds. There's an important lesson here, as we close the Century which saw a sustained assault
by the partisans of Freud and Marx upon the notion of personal responsibility.

To quote the immortal philosopher Baretta, "don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."

post count doesn't mean boo...it's not a indication of knowledge, time here, or respect......

Want mine? I have about 8,000 I can spare.....only thing that's important to me is the last post I made and if it was helpful or bs. Too many people concerned with things that mean very little in the grand scope of things...... like sig pics and scripts...whoop de do....half of them look like HS anyway /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Yep Like I've said several times. Post count doesn't mean a thing, If you have a any forum smarts at all. So what if it high or low. Did he say anything relevant at all with his high post count or was it all flames and other crap trying to get an easy rank of nothing more than Rant. Not saying you high posters are bad by no means but their are a few semi rotten eggs here, and some Noobs that are hammering the joint thinking rank is what they need. I think Rank should some how be based on time since registration, and it should also last time signed in aswell. So you can see how current the poster is.

Well off to work M8's

Exactly!!!

Chicken feed.

If you refrain from posting spam and usless crap thats all you will have is low numbers. Unless your Hunter or Tully or the like with tons of useful info and helpful advise you should never get to many post. If only you could refrain yourself to IL2/FB topics. Odds are if most people would spend asmuch time searching the forums properely and actually reading them, there would be less need for them to post!

200-Million-Mile Leader
3406E
14.6L

The successor to the 3406C was the 3406E. Introduced in 1994, and built through the end of 1999, the 14.6-liter 3406E was for owner-operators, fleets and heavy haulers who wanted performance and fuel economy with unmatched durability.

The Cat 3406E with integral engine electronics took engine technology to higher ground. Based on the twenty years and nearly 200 billion miles of experience of its 3406 predecessors, the E model quickly became a world-class leader in performance and fuel efficiency in both on- and off-highway heavy-duty applications.

Incidentally, Caterpillar was the first engine builder to design and patent a multi-torque diesel engine.

When it comes to ratings, the 375/435 multi-torque engine gives you the best of both worlds--top fuel efficiency and driver-pleasing reserve power when it's needed.

Leading the sales in the proven 3406E line is the 475 hp 3406E. With a peak torque of 1,750 lb-ft, this engine has the power to handle heavy hauls and demanding terrain with the efficiency and reliability you expect from Caterpillar truck engines.

A 500 hp rating offers owners an affordable 500 hp/1,750 lb-ft torque engine that matches up with a medium cost driveline. It offers driver-pleasing power, management-pleasing efficiency and reliability.

The 550 hp 3406E is a driver's high-horsepower engine. With a peak torque of 1,850 lb-ft, this engine provides superior power and performance, along with unmatched durability.
