Hey folks, I had a little bit harder time in Unity really putting the history in context. It's been quite a few years since I studied the French Revolution in school and I had a hard time with the timeline of major events in the game... basically really UNDERSTANDING the revolution that was going on around Arno and gang. It didn't help that all of the side missions were more or less out of chronological order (i.e. playing things from 1794 when you're still in 1789 in the main campaign was REALLY confusing). So tonight I took the time to watch the History channel's documentary and wanted to post the link for anyone else interested.

Really helped tie together the events of the game combined with my own knowledge, since we were only able to see the revolution from Arno's limited point of view.

It's in really low resolution, btw, but it did the trick.

The French Revolution was deliberately placed in the background of the game, that is to say, deliberately made into wallpaper. There's another thread which I made that contextualizes the historical events, or more precisely historical lies in the game better, mission by mission, brother co-op and side missions included:

You know in earlier Assassin's Creed you didn't need to see supporting documentarties just to understand the plot.
