Just curious. Anyone know what the sales were for IL & ILFB in the USA and worldwide? I would be interested in knowing how popular this game is.
I have been playing this game from day one and have pre-ordered Ace. I have FB and Call of Duty on my computer at this time.
I would love to know how this game stacked up against MCFS3 in sales. Anyone know the answer or where to find it?

Hmmm, interesting. MS`s silence is a good indication that it`s sales haven`t done so well and I think UBI doesn`t want to make powerful enemies just yet by shouting off how much better it`s done than MS. I suspect IL2/FB has fared much better.

Just my guess.

I think FB is more popular than IL2. A lot of people were just turned off by IL2 for whatever reason, most likely unfamiliarity. The secret is out now though. I bet FB sales doubled if not triled those of IL2. I know this forum has exploded...and a lot of the old regulars are still flying..they just dont come here anymore since other forums have opened up.

i think cfs3 sucks, but it beatout il2 sturmovik in the E3 awards 2002.

and in 2003
Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight (Microsoft for PC)
Secret Weapons over Normandy (Totally Games/LucasArts for

The judges go by sales, I wish e3 had a category or rating of online cheating for games. It would make more companies follow olegs lead. 1c is the only game company that takles strict messures to assure no cheating goes on and all of us thank him for it.

of course i dont agree with them being better then il2fb either.

Well, that`s sad. There must be a lot of people struggling with a sim, not knowing or caring about FB and living with crap. Personally, I don`t quite understand. CFS3 is clearly not as good as FB, but it sold more? The power of Microsoft advertising maybe, they certainly have the means over UBI?

Could it be similar to how some crap Hollywood films get massive turnouts because of the forced adverting, wheras very good movies are almost unknown because they cannot afford to advertise like the rivals?

In this case judging something by sales is clearly a mistake.

Other media industries, for example movies, are very open about sales and how much money they make. We get it jammed down our throat that Lord of the rings made 50 million this weekend.
Are we talking 100,000 copies or ten million sold? anyone?
