I thought it was a cool picture! Perhaps in the future?

The Spit XIV is hardly faster than the Ta 152, not even down low. as for outturning the Ta 152, probably not.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Robban got any Ta152H graphs you can post. The graphs I have say the Spit XIV is faster by ~20mph.

Best to climb, not turn vs the H, at least down low.

I'm refering to a chart printed in the book Fw 190, "Longnose" by Dietmar Hermann. Page 154, it shows a lowlevel topspeed of 598km/h for the Ta 152H-1, versus 584km/h for the XIV.

Here is another for the Spit XIV

http://www.fourthfightergroup.com/eagles/spit14speedns.jpg

Notice the 626kph(389mph) @ 500' which means a 28kph advantage for the Spit.

Cleraly the 150 octane fuel. Something what made a P51 a 400+ mph plane on the deck. Yet, for various reasons, this wasn't common, right ?

Would be interesting to see what the performance gain would be on the Ta 152 with 150 octane fuel, or the Fw 190D for that matter! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

FW190fan, I have an almost finished Ta 152C, but I haven't attached the decals yet, but it would be cool to make the same thing as with the Ta 152H.(Which I didn't make by the way).http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Lord almighty, what did I miss here? Someone flying the TA152 without telling me?

I was out of town when suddenly I had a fierce premonition that the bird was afoot, so I cancelled my plans, sped home as fast as I could and just fired up the computer.

AHA! I was right! Something is afoot indeed.

But crapola, it appears that I am tardy to the thread....shaticus.

Faster than the 152 H down low would be the C, but it wouldn't turn better. Maybe there is the Do335, but it doesn't turn as well either.

One beer here and another for my imaginary friend. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

DO335, does 470mph at 21k... also, the tests have it turning rather good, better than say the 109, at least the book here i have says thats what the test pilots said...
