Randomly thinking of all the landmarks in the AC series and was wondering what the highest leap of faith is. In my head it's head it's the church in Acre from AC1 but maybe I'm forgetting something.

nothing earth shattering here guys, just curious is all!

Good question. That one was REALLY high. ACII also had some really tall structures, the Galata Tower apex in AC:R was also very high. But I don’t know how we can compare both, like we don’t have official measurements to get the right answer.

I haven't played all the AC games (I've played AC2, AC3, AC4 and ACU), but I'd say the Notre Dame. It's the only viewpoint where if I look up at it from the ground I'm like 'holy crap that's huge', it still amazes me how gigantic the Dame actually is.

Wouldn't it be this: http://youtu.be/J09VJhUfauY

And this could be the greatest fail: http://youtu.be/1c6AjKJlI28

Give me a modern day AC (full game or a segment in a game like the classics) with 3rd person perspective and a new character and let’s synch a viewpoint on top of this:

I think MD could have good leap of faiths...

Just imagine more of this:

Yeah! that one was epic and the building wasn’t near Burj Khalifa’s height. Structures like The Empire State or Chrysler Tower or many other skyscrapers in Shanghai or just high buildings, hotels and towers in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia or The Shard in London or even historical structures in modern day. Imagine the beauty of the city lights from those heights.

Agreed. It'd be breathtaking. :)

Did they used to add slow motion to the fall? I feel like we've had descent animations of a longer duration, even if the landmarks weren't as high.

Leap of faith =/= viewpoint

Had not been scaled down, Il Duomo of Florence is the winner of the former category, for it reaches 114.5 metres (376 ft). In game, I would say since Unity´s buildings are pretty close to 1:1, the winner is Notre Dame -69 meters (226 ft) in the towers and 90 meters at is spire.

Oh I forgot Castel Saint Angelo, that is pretty tall ingame.

The Minaret of Jesus (Damascus). 77m. you cant reach its highest point though...
Cathedral of the Holy Cross (Acre). Hard to say, this landmark doesnt exist anymore
Giotto's Campanile (Florence). 84m - the winner
Colosseum (Rome). 48m. Castel is much higher than that but you need several leaps to reach ground level from its highest point.
Galata Tower (Constantinople). 63m
Trinity Church (NY). 87m. Doesnt count, destroyed in AC3. I didnt play Rogue. but if its intact in this game then it should be the highest leap.
St Paul Chapel (NY). cant find, should be somewhere between 60 and 80m.
Notre Dame (Paris). 69m (towers). Appears to be much higher in game because ACU has landmarks in 1:1 scale, while older games often had them scaled down.

If you could actually perform a leap of faith from it, it would most certainly be
the Eiffel Tower. BY FAR the largest structure we've ever climbed in the series, and it was bloody awesome!

I would guess in a way it would be the Eiffel Tower, but of course you go through a rift before reaching the ground

I still think the one in Acre is higher than Notre Dame. Check it out:

There is no way to measure that. Different games have different scales for different landmarks. But I guess in this case Notre Dame wins.
And IMO Campanille in Florence appears to be higher than Cathedral in Acre.
