OK, just how the heck do I lean my head over to look thrugh the gun sight on the P-47 Razorback?
I can't even see the target half the time because the #*&@# center cockpit frame piece totally blocks my view!!!
I just fire by guess and hope to hit something.
I never realized this before, but I guess the real pilots would have to lean to the left to use the sites as well. What a crappy design!
No wonder they went to the bubble canopy, not so much for view side to side as for frontal view.
Thanks.

Yeah, it sucks and there's no way around it aside from tricky rudder use. It's like the designers primary goal was to build a tank of a plane and the rest (such as the gunsight) was an afterthought.

Just to make sure...you know that Shift F1 in the P-47, like the Bf 109 and the FW190 will shift the view over so that you can look through the gunsight yes?

The razorback P-47's are no problem for me. I'm used to dealing with a constrained view and this is no different. Even so...stereoscopic vision of a real pilot is going to lessen the effect of the metal bar in the way...infact it would likely make it almost invisible to the experienced pilot. Its just the nature of the medium that hurts us on this one.

AHHH! Shift F1 it is then!!!!
Guess it would have paid to look through the instructions... But never thought it would work as I know you can't lean in this game.

Thanks a bunch VW-IceFire!!!

I'll have to see if I can map this to a HotKey!

maybe they just bounced people and didn't play angles with a p47....

Bear in mind that you won`t be able to use the revi if the cockpit will suffer some damage.

Wow, I never knew about shift-F1. I guess I didn't read the manual closely enough. But it really improves targeting, and not just on planes with odd gunsights like the P-47 and BF-109. It prevents the crosshairs from bouncing around on *any* plane. Very nice.

Glad that it worked out for you. I fly the P-47 alot in mostly offline missions that I've been making (I'll release a big pack sometime). The P-47 is a fun plane if you can make it work for you.
