It's so great, that we have a lot of veteran pilots here in the forums. They flew all FB-planes during WW2 very often in combat and know very well, how the planes and weapons were in reality. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

Them that didn't have a book that says it all. And another has a book that says different. Etc.

BTW, GWalker, they have planes that don't stall. Almost always been possible. It's just that the more stable a plane is, the slower and lesser it can maneuver. That is an aerodynamic fact at least before fly-by-wire and immense powerful jets.

During test flights with a Ta 152 the airplane once went into a spin following a stall, but he was not able to repeat this since all other cases the maschine stalled out normaly, picked its nose up and built up speed again.
..

You meant this quote Gwalker70 ?

Ta is really kind of b1tchy in FB. It's got a lot better weight/wing surface ration then the FW-190s, but it's got the same low speed handling and even worse spin characteristics. Stalls & Spins also got worse in FWs again. Recovery isn't easy anymore. IRL they stalled quite fast and unannounced, but they were very easy to recover (just center the stick or push it forward would do it - just like in 1.2x). But I also noticed 109s, 163 beeing quite *****y.... I bet many other planes are, 2. Didn't have much time to test them all. Really funny: The P-39 is still so "uber" as it was - and somehow it's better than the P-63 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif. The Kingcobra is very b1tchy, just like I imagine the 39s to be, and the 39s turn quite well - with some patience they never stall, but the 63s do.

Looks like a general problem to me then, not specific for some planes. It seems stall modelling changed a bit.

took a TA up to 10k... what is that? like 30ft? it was cool, hammered it with GM1 got a whopping 550kph... huh????? where is all the speed?

this was done with 110per GM1 and raid open... raid closed got about 570 but overheated instantly... at 29k ft ta is to get 465mph which is like what 680-700kph????? huh? was ist los?

Hmm, that's funny. I've managed to reach 755km/h at 9500m, with rads fully closed. It takes a loooong time to get there though. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

not me, was on a server last night, got up to 10k and was being chased by a mustang... never got over 570, normally running at 100per since the thing overheats with raid open... but still, should still get in mid 600s easy with that setup, it got to 550s and just stopped..

Even on other maps than the Crimea map that is just so far from the Ta's topspeed. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
did you record it? Do another highspeed run on the Crimea map at 9500m and let me know what speed you get! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Intersting fact.... I think you don't know what is IAS (indicated airspeed) and TAS (true airspeed). I wold suggest that somebody will tell him in better english then me.

Did notice this too? I was sorry for the kind of mistreatment he is getting in this forum, because he really doesn't deserve it, but seeing his humour these days is refreshing.. Probably he understood who's da man and who's just pretending to know something. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Where could I find a link to test reports for ta152?

I did notice it almost always trys to enter a spin when it stalls. If you don't get on the rudder immediately it sometimes enters a flat spin.

I've shot down many ta152 pilots who were bnz'ing me one second then floating past me in an easy target "falling leaf" flat spin the next.

It's almost funny to see it.

I did notice it seems all planes are getting into flat spins now.
