View Full Version : If the crowds arent the framerate problem then why didnt we hit a stable 30 fps?

Before the release of the game, Ubisoft said that they had to lock it to 900p and 30 fps, because both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 had underpowered processors so they had to take it down a notch so it can run smoothly. However, in a recent live blog post by Ubisoft following up on the framerate issues along with the patches, they said that after a number of tests, they have determined that the crowds are not the problem for the frame rate issues. I understand that the CPU processes alot more than just AI/Crowd actions, but this feels really strange to me, first they say one thing, than the complete opposite. I won't go into detail saying that either console could run the game better because of factor "X". I just wanna hear your opinions on this.

My theory is that UPlay is bottlenecking something

It's the buildings, not the crowds, that's why, and most of the crowds are right outside of the detailed buildings.
