I had such high hopes for this game since Watchdogs was a complete failure as well.

This Assassins Creed had some of the most unfriendly button layout that makes it almost impossible to play.

Here are a list of my complaints!

1. Stealth in this game is a joke. I pop my head above a building for a second and they instantly see me.

2. The range for pistols is the same for rifles yet the enemy can shoot be before I am even in range.

3. RT should be for high-profile LT should be for low-profile.

4. Too many buttons have different but doesn't utilize other buttons. Hold X to do power attacks works only about 50% of the time. Having dodge and cover as the same button is insane because I try to dodge from bullets when I'm getting chased and it makes me hide in cover. Strong attack should be Y not eagle vision.

5. Speaking of eagle vision since B is never used beside to interact with objects why not share eagle vision with that to make power attacks easier to use. Also, having to wait for eagle vision to reload is pointless. I miss being able to hold it down and being able to see enemies route.

6. I can never see multiple enemies HUDs so I never know when to parry. When it does pop up I mash down the button and it hardly ever works.

7. You took daggers out completely and also you can only have one hidden blade and cannot change weapons beside to ranged.

8. Range weapons take too long to take out and shoot and most the time miss the enemies for a quick shot. Enemies guns are way too overpowered.

Next game you come out with I hope you decide to go with alpha testers. All you need is a dozen or so people who play a lot of games and a varieties of games. All of these could have been fixed before the game even launched.

1. It should be just like real life where someone sees you for a second and you hide again and they completely forget about you right? No. Stay behind cover and use the camera to look around. AC:U has some of the best stealth I've played in a video game in a long time.

2. I'll kinda give you that one. But most games are like that. Even AC:4 had that problem.

3. Isn't that exactly what it is? I don't understand what you're trying to say here.

4. I've never had problems using power attacks and you can't dodge while you're running. You can only dodge while in combat and once you start running you're out.

5. Again, never had problems with power attacks.

6. The game will always prioritize the HUD of an attacking enemy and mashing the button doesn't work, you have to time it right and sometimes that is hard to do. Especially when multiple enemies are surrounding you.

7. Daggers have never been any different from swords other than animations so they aren't needed. You don't need more than one hidden blade. Cannot change weapons besides ranged? Nobody ever told me that! I would have never known from changing between swords, axes and spears!

8. The guns aren't slow at all, go play Fable 2 and THEN tell me about slow guns. I almost never miss from quick shot, and the enemy guns are fine. Dodge the bullets when you're in combat and zig zag when running away, also try running through crowds, enemies don't seem to shoot at you when you're in crowds. And NEVER climb a wall when they are shooting, you WILL get hit.

Hell no. I'm loving this game so far, I think it might be my favourite AC game so far, although I haven't played Rogue yet.

I dunno if it because I went out of my way to keep my expectations for this game grounded, but I really don't understand stand all the hate this game is getting, yes it has problems, namely bugs an Helix points but I still had alot of fun with it, it is no where near the disaster AC3 was.

I thing Eagle Vison was fine on right stick.
To the game, the combate and stealth is sometimes really anoying, but when you got the moves stealth gets pretty easy when playing some hours in the game :)

No. I voted "not quite" because I don't know anything about your sanity. But . . . NO! Other than the sleazy things like the pay-to-win microtransactions, the phone app and the Initiates garbage (all of which I ignore), I don't get the hate at all. It's a fine AC game, with a mind-blowing scope. My XONE version works well too. No crashes at all, after playing it since the moment the download unlocked on the 11th. Frame rates dip into the 20s occasionally, but nothing unplayable. I would have thrown my 360 out the window long ago, if the frame rates in Unity made games unplayable. I did end up on the wrong side of the world geometry once. I tried to stand up from a crouching position while under a low obstacle, and off I went to the minus side of the polygon normals. I moved around a bit to check out the bizarro world, but not for long. I was too afraid of falling into the void. So I fast-traveled out--problem solved without a reboot.

The game needs some technical polish. So does Skyrim, after all this time. Is Skyrim disappointing? Not according to the reviews.

Even the micro-transactions don't have any effect on anything other than running around and opening chests. Not exactly "pay-to-win".

YES! THANK YOU! Somebody else remembers that the GAME OF THE YEAR from 2011 was even worse than Unity in bugs!

Lol! funny AND true!

I voted most definitely but not for any of the reasons posted in the OP.

My disappointment came in regards to the story (or lack thereof). Nothing was explained about MD except in the beginning and you play throughout the entire game just to find out that all the work you did was completely pointless. You could have NOT played the game and STILL have no continuation in the original story. That and killing of Elise pissed me off too.

I agree, this totally ruined the game.

I can understand people who are upset with the technical issues the game was/is having making unplayable for some. Fortunately I was lucky enough to not have any major issues. But I really dont understand all the hate for the game itself, IMO its the best AC game since AC2. I havent finished it yet so I cant comment on the story but game play, combat, side missions, graphics (without the glitches) and the overhaul feel of the game is amazing.. My only issue at this stage is with the Rift missions, that is the biggest disappointed for me. But I can live without those.

Its almost like people are jumping on the hate wagon because a lot of people were complaining about the technical stuff, I feel like if the game didn't have the major glitches and problems it had from the start then we might have been hearing a very different story about how people about the game itself.

Welcome to the "Gamers" of 2014! Watch, this Tuesday when Dragon Age Inquisition comes out and people start seeing a few glitches everyone's gonna be flipping there waste.

Hello everybody, thank you for your thoughts. I don't really have technical issues. Most issues are from the control layout and climbing with Arno is horrible. The movements are great and fluid following a parkour stance. But hitting LT to get into a window doesn't work a lot of the time.
Also, stealth has been a huge problem, the distant they can detect you and also seeing below for ledge kills is truly killing me.
As for the game trying to be realistic as some as saying... I don't think jumping from a 100ft building into a hay cart is very realistic.

Cant take this thread serious, the list of complaints is 95% subjectiv.

But I have to add that aiming with guns or other long ranged weapons is not perfect at all. The mission where you have to make 4 headshots... its impossible while fighting and doesnt work smooth anyway. A aiming system like gta where you can aim on body parts and change between targets smoothly would be godlike for ACU.

What? I did that on the first try. Just go into cover, hold L1/LB, aim for the head and then pull R2/RT to shoot. Arno pops up, shoots and goes back down way before any of the guards could even aim.

This game would be amazing if connecting Ubisoft when you hit start (xbox one), didn't crash my game every time. In conclusion, this game has potential, but the networking needs major fixing!
My only complaint about the game itself is the long rifles... You should be able to shoot someone when your aiming at them! Sometimes it takes 3 shots at the same spot to hit the one target( while aiming with LB)

Use the Phantom Blade. It doesn't attract attention, therefore, no fighting needed.

I can't say this game isn't a disappointment in some regard, but i don't believe it to be as big a disappointment as some are making it out to be. All a matter of opinion though.

Not just a matter of opinion when the game crashes every time your Ubisoft connects with servers. The game is not a failure, it just has serious networking issues.

AC:U is both the best and worst game in the AC collection.

- The setting of the French Revolution sounded really cool (and when you are running around Paris, it is really cool), but the revolution itself has next to no impact on the game (unlike every other AC game, where the setting influences your missions and the character). I can honestly say I have learned a fair bit about history from the AC games (reading the in-game data bases, as well as from the game, minus the assassins killing temlpars), but this game offered little to nothing in terms of the politics of the Revolution (or the events), it all focuses entirely on the relationship between Arno and Elise.

- The graphics are beautiful, but there are so many glitches (people randomly appearing, people floating through space, people moving along the street without their limbs moving, falling through the world, climbing up invisible walls, NPCs suddenly deciding they want to change clothes or put spontaneously developing headgear... the list goes on).

- The story has great potential, but falls short of what it could (and should) have been. [Spoilers] one second you are an Assassin, the next you are expelled, then, without being readmitted into the Brotherhood, you are somehow the Mentor and this wise-sounding Assassin leader???

- I LOVE the customisation! Choosing each piece of your gear to specialise your Assassin is awesome! That said, it would be nice if we could choose each individual colour (not a set of 3 colours, when 1 or 2 of the set are nice, but the other/s are ugly.... also bright red mixed with brighter red..... seriously??? Aren't you meant to be blending in???). And, as mentioned before, there is no real advantage of using a rifle (which is non-lethal in melee and has much lower damage output) as opposed to using a pistol and one-handed weapon. Whose idea was it that they would have the same range and ranged damage? Also, head shots don't always kill (even though you get the Creed Points for them)... wat??

- The parkour climbing style is epic! But climbing is so bugged - you can fall through the world, get stuck in a single spot (the number of times I have had to fast travel because Arno refuses to climb up, drop, go sideways, or do anything....).

- Stealth as a skill is a great idea, but I don't see any difference in detection radius between wearing the medieval (heavy armour) set, and a stealth set of gear (such as Phantom).

- The AI actually reminds me of Skyrim, in that you can shoot someone and the AI becomes alert and searches for you. But you wait until the map stops flashing yellow (approx. 30 seconds) and the NPCs return to default not caring. I mean come on, someone has just been murdered and you think that because it has been 30 seconds and noone else dies, you are okay? Also, NPCs thanking you for murdering people (even though they are being threatened)... if someone was threatening me in the street and another random person (in a hood and armour, no less) came up and killed them... I would not be thanking the murderer, I would probably be running away and calling for the cops! Haha..

- Some missions don't appear / spawn. I have completed the main story and still some of the murder and revolution missions have not appeared. I have even Googled the start locations so that I can head directly to where I need to go, but the NPC / corpse / whatever is not there so I cannot start, let alone complete the mission.

- The need to use Co-op (which you have to pay a sub fee for on console games), complete club competitions (again online with sub fee), the Android / iPhone companion app AND AC Initiates just to be able to complete the game is insane. I liked Initiates in the prior titles as it gave me something to do after I have 100%ed the game, but this is crazy! Not to mention Unity is not even compatible with Initiates yet (major oversight there)... and Unity has reset my Initiates level back to 1 (bye bye all the xp from ACII-ACIV :/ ). Oh and the ACU app is bugged and doesn't work either.. lol.

My list could go on, but I think I've had enough of a rant. As I started, so shall I end: I love this game for the potential it has (and how cool it is when it is working), but it has a lot of flaws which bring it down and make it disappointing.
