I think there's some hyperbolic scaremongering going on with Unity or perhaps some should buy a console. I get 55-70+ FPS at 1080p ultra. My i7 930 has an average overclock of 3.8GHz.

I built my rig around 5 years ago and just recently bought a GTX 970. You can get my CPU for cheap as chips, under 50 used. GTX 970 can be bought for 240 plus you get a free game. You don't need some 1000 haswell CPU and TRI SLI or a new rig every year.

Not saying AC is perfect but it reminds me when Metro 2033 first hit, or Crysis Crysis 3.

Anyways, I'm enjoying AC Unity so far, my rig is unchanged from around 5 years ago except a 970. My old GPU was a 580 and lasted a good 4 years.

What exactly are your configuration in Nvidia control panel then? Performance or Quality? Do you use V-sync either in game or Nvidia?

PCSS shadows in game? TXAA or FXAA?

I haven't had any huge problems either and I've nearly completed the game. It does have some stutter in places which needs fixing. The game is perfectly playable on my 3777k and GTX680.

Quality in NV panel, no vsync yet, might lock to 50hz as my monitor supports 50 and 60. PCSS on HBAO+ etc. For AA I've tried TXAA and FXAA and decided to stick with FXAA. Going to try injecting SMAA as well. MSAA x4 does hit me down to 40s but its looks a little jaggy, not really worth it. I was expecting FXAA to look blurry but looks pretty decent here.

point here really is your on a graphics card that was released in the last few months, which is where a lot of your performance will be coming from. cpu usage for most people has been around the 40-60% usage so it figures that your getting relatively good frames when your card is one of the latest out. personally i think its a bit much to expect people to be on hardware that was just released to get a fairly basic performance from a game. i mean with my 760 im playing in bloody 1366x768 and some tinkered settings to get a playable performance. granted my card isnt the best or the worst but i think they could of made this game look decent and play well on less than 3 and 4gb gpu cards, they just didnt bother. again.
