Here is a nice looking tank sim but plays as a strategy I think. Im still reading into it. I came across the website in my World War II magazine, the game that was showing was 'Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin', 'Combat Mission: Afrika Korps is it successor. Demo's are free to d/l but you can only buy it online.

I own CM:BO and CM:BB and they are both very entertaining games, many houndreds of hours spent playing them. The graphics are a little dated to say the least but the gameplay is amazing. The battles can be as small as company size all the way up to batallion or army size, quite impressive. I can't quite recall the max size for maps but they can be larger than 2kmx2km if memory serves correct. Anyone interested in WWII (anyone on these forums) should look into this for a good compliment to IL2. They even let you get air support from IL2's to Bf-109's!!

Combat Mission games are pretty good, the graphics are a little dated but the concept is spot on and should be updated and improved. The AI can't really function offensively, it just throws its assets at objectives. I have hopes that Oleg's tactical WW2 sim will be everything CM could be and more, although the game area (1000m x 1000m?) seems a little small.

A turn based game is not ideal for a tactical game, there is not much psychological impact that way, if it is real-time then will have to be ready and alert all the time.

The best and most entertaining tactical games I've played is the Close Combat series. Too bad I havn't had the opportunity to play against a human http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I'll definalty try this out, as I have Tanker blood in my viens.
The best WWII strategy game I've ever played thus far was Panzer General, and Allied General on the original Sony Play Station. I spent some time looking for PC versions, but can't find it.

Panzer general is turn based game, but with a time limit for each senario. I never did finish it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
