View Full Version : Seriously UBI? No proper support for 16:10 resolutions? REALLY?!

Ok I am at a total loss for words to explain how upset I am right now.

Running a 24" monitor with 1920x1200 resolution. I personally have never liked the 16:9 screens for PC monitors. Never ever have had an issues with this in any game after like 2004? But setting the game to 1920x1200 will either give your game black borders in the top and bottom or give you a fullscreen image that is UPSCALED from 1920x1080 depending on if you enable or disable the "stretching" option...upscaling on a PC? WHAT THE **** UBISOFT?!

they've been doing that since the first AC, you either adopt or complain

Cant remember I had this issue with Black Flag but maybe I did? Gonna reinstall it just to check right now!

Dang. I wish I hadn't opened this thread. Didn't know that's what the stretching did, nor did I notice that things were slightly distorted. Now after flipping it on and off repeatedly while looking at Arno, I notice it big time. I guess it true when they say that ignorance is bliss. :D I guess I'll have to live with borders now.

Ah, that's okay. Not your fault. I'd rather be an informed gamer than an ignorant one, but still, it sucks.

BS, I'm playing 16:9 2560 x 1440 on my 32 inch monitor. This is typical of the misinformation campaign going on here.

Er what? He said 16:10 not 16:9.

What do you mean by misinformation campaign?

Sorry, was playing on 16:10 in the big screen at 1080. By misinformation, I mean people saying stuff that isn't true. The game is good at reading the landscape, and resolution of your monitor. I have played it on two. 16:10, and now 16:9.

Oh man 1080 is 16:9 as well. The game does not support 16:10 properly. Just a fact and not a issue for most people. For me it is though.

But who here is peddling misinformation other than you?

Mr.Fisse is making a statement of fact. It's nothing subjective, nor subject for debate. At 16:10, the game is still presented in a 16:9 aspect ratio with horizontal bars to fill in unused 120 scan lines (@1920x1200).

IF I remember correctly... I've always had the letterbox on my 16:10 on AC games.

All I can say is the graphics menu said 16:10, the resolution was less than 1920 x 1200 because I had to size my screen to get the desktop to fit properly. It was on a Samsung 53-inch LCD. I have no reason to tell fables. I'm using a Nvidia 780 Ti, display port on the 32 inch BenQ monitor, and HDMI on the 53-inch big screen.

I guess the tie breaker would be for someone to submit a trouble ticket to Ubisoft regarding this issue.
