It not fair to be a bombamdier or whatever they calle and steer the plane at the same time it just impossible. PLayers should be able to put pilot on auto pilot or something and do the babemdier tasks(spelling). But right now if i put a pilot on an auto pilot bombamdier goes on autopilot too. So i think there should that option, where a pilot steer plane and i'm in bobamdier sit doing the velocity and height things.

Tha makes flying bombers most enjoyble. And i fly a whole campaign in the HE bomber and i never could hit my target exactly. In real world pilot tryes to steer the plane at the same speed or altitute while bobamdier does his thing. Even In movies(movie was about american B-25 called something Bell) i never seen bombamdier try to steer the plane right. How are we suppostu enjoy boimber in upcoming Pacific expansion when we can't even hit our targets.

Oh yeah except for TB bomber. I have no problem steering and doing bobamdier tasks cause it flying so slow. But on faster and only two engine HE bombers it almost impossible. Plus i have to gataway from fighters, maybe flak may damage one of my engines and i have steer the plane and do bombamdier tasks. SO please fix that issue in the next expasion.

It may interest you to know that in a B-17, on a bombing run, the bombardier, not the pilot, was in control of the aircraft during the actual bomb run, to reduce the likelihood of miscommunication between the bombardier and the pilot. Don't know about other bombers, but this is not 'impossible' and was in fact done during WWII.

Have you ever tried the autolevel function.. Guess you'll have to assign a key for it. Maybe this will solve your problem. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It not impossible to do once you line your bomber to the target. Now there is a key call "LEVEL SATBILER" (Something close to that) use it it will allow you to take your hands off the joystick once you trim and set your aircraft to desire speed and height.

Yeah thanks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifBut when i use the level stabilizer, but can you reccomend what what engine power should i use and pitch and everything, cause plane start to go up or faster or start gaining speed.

And in the movie when they flying the B-25 pilot sad "She's all yours man" and he switched some switch (probably some kinda of level stabilizer) and bombamdier was just looking in his optic thing and setting alttitude and velocity and something, but how can bobamdier steer the plane if there is no joystick of anykind (i mean in real life)

And sorry for saying thats is not fair. Its just i'm having trouble hitting my targets exactly and its a long and hard fly to the target. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Like what pitch and engine power i use when i turn on the level stabilizer. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

With Heinkels I use 100% prop pitch and 90% - 100% throttle through the whole flight. First thing is ofcourse to get to preferred altitude and speed e.g. 6000m and 300km/h IAS, while doing this adjust the sight. The next part for bombing is to turn on the level stabilizer and use elevator trim to keep it absolutely level (requires atleast 40 clicks to trim the nose up). There's an indicator to see it. Eventually with 100 pp and 100 throttle you will have IAS of some 300km/h if you are above 4000m, at lower altitude the speed might get up to 350 km/h IAS. The whole accelerating and trimming takes few minutes to do, but after that the bombing is easy. Just line up and turn automation on. You can make some small horizontal adjustments with rudder trim once the stabilizer is turned on. The best altitude to bomb is above 4000m so the light flak can't reach you. It's easy once you know how.

B-17s had a very advanced bombsight called Norden which was hooked up to the autopilot (yes autopilot).
On Final approach to target, the pilot would turn over control to the bombardier. Thru the sight, the bombardier could steer the plane left and right up to 20? either side of course with knobs, as well as set other things like the wind, TAS, height over ground, type of ordnance, release sequence...The altitude and speed were set by the pilot but he would not touch the controls during the run. Then the Norden would automatically drop the bombs at the right time...In fact It was one of the first integrated weapon system...Crude yes, but pretty effective...

I agree, being a bombardier and pilot at the same time is not easy.

@ adadaead

Have a lok at our website in the "He111 preflight" theres a small tutorial on the bombsite that may help you. The Bombadier DID control the aircraft when on thier bombrun the pilot handed over control to the bombadier and he made the adjustment to the bomber in the bombsite like a dual control system.
