I hope you find it usefull.

http://www.fighterjerks.com/AEPTools.zip

Please review the readme before installing.

Quick Start Guide:
Make sure this program is in C:\AEPTools. If you place it anywhere else,
it will not function properly.

Run AEP_Tools.exe

You'll see a new icon next to your clock (lower right-hand of screen).
Right-click the icon to see your quick-launch menu. If you don't like
the programs listed in the quick-launch menu, you can change them...

Open C:\AEPTools\Config.ini with notepad or any other text editor.
If you wanted to change the first menu so that it says "Play FB",
find it and change it. You may also change the Path pointing to
the game if you did not install FB into the default directory.

Example:
Default menu
[Menu1]
Name=Forgotten Battles
Path=C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe

New Menu
[Menu1]
Name=Play FB
Path=G:\Games\Sims\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe

You may add/remove items, but the [Menu*] label must be correct!!!!
If you already have 4 menu items and you want to add a new one, its
label must be [Menu5]. Any additional menu labels will be numbered
accordingly.

HOTKEYS:
ALT+S = Strobe nav lights
NOTE: This will pause when the chat key is pressed, and will
restart when the enter key is hit twice. Sometimes the order
will reverse when changing planes: the lights are on and flash
off briefly. In order to fix this, just hit alt+L. Because there
is no way to get the current state of the lights, there is no way
to cure this.
CTRL+Y = Chat "Roger"
CTRL+N = Chat "Negative"
ALT+I = Startup/stop two engines automaticly (great for P38/110)
NOTE: Once both engines are started, controll is turned over to both,
meaning you do not need to "Select all engines".
ALT+E = Bail out and send "S!" to chat
Shift+f = Turn on/off FPS counter

In order for the hotkeys to work, please set up FB/AEP's
controls as follows:

Select Engine 1: CTRL+1
Select Engine 2: CTRL+2
Etc etc etc
Select All Engines: CTRL+0
Bail out: CTRL+E (default)
Chat: ` (default)
Nav Lights: ALT+l (lower-case "L")

Coming features:
* Zoom on a slider http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
* Mixture on a slider http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

For us Lazy people... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

... what does this utility do exactly? Just a shortcut menu in your system tray? don't understand what you mean about hotkeys... Anyways though, just curious, even if it's just a shortcut menu it would help since i'm constantly opening things like Hardball's ACV, DCG, UQMG, IL2, and my Freelook http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This sounds like it has a lot of potential Baldie.

However, I am way hesitant to try it because it will jack up a lot of my in game settings and my joystick settings.

When you get all the other stuff working, I may have to give it a go and reconfigure my stick. But till then, I am going to sit back and watch.

Locust: Try it now and if it gives you problems, click "Bug-Reporting" so can I try to pin down the root of the problem. The first version was very rough, but this one is far more polished.

Skullin: Yes, it does shortcuts from the system tray, and allows you to change what programs are in the shortcuts. Its very powerfull, allowing you to launch almost anything (the default install includes many cool examples).

AEPTools also comes with some neat hotkeys. Although you can not change these, they will be customizable in one of the coming versions.
