High all, I am still pretty new to this sim. I was wondering if I can get some advise on how to get the most out of FB. I am not very good at prop planes but I bought the game and I really think the graphics are great and the FM is really great. I would like to know if anybody could recommend how I should set up the game to get the best performance out of it. Here is what I am running it on.

WinXp Pro
P4 1.3ghz
512mb PC800 RDRAM
GeforceFX 5200 128mb
Sound Blaster Live!
40GB WD HD 7200RPM

Thx in advance.

I'd suggest you also post in the Technical support forum (if you haven't already).

Also check the IL2:FB setup and settings info on http://www.mudmovers.com/

Thanks,

I will post over there now. I usually hang out on the lomac forum. I have had FB for a little while but have not played it much yet. I want to start playing it more now as I have more time.

Thanks Again,

with your comp you should be able to run everything at excellent settings, 1024x768, 2x antialiasing. You can get "perfect" water beyond that, but your comp. probably is not up to it.

Download the free version of FRAPS to check out your frame rates while you run FB, it's a great little diagnostic tool. Aim for at least 25 fps for smooth flying.

... or open the console by pressing SHIFT+TAB in game and type "fps START SHOW" (without the quotes) to check your framerate.

There is a lot to learn, but that is half the joy! I would suggest getting a firm grip of the flight dynamics and keyboard input etc by working your way through the singleplayer missions. Once you've got a bit of practice in then give multiplayer a go to spice things up a bit!

Thanks for the input guys. I was off in FB land playing the single player missions. I found a profile for the x-45 and I have just started the campaign. I will post my fps when i try it again later. Thanks again,
