If you choose "Empty" for the Yak 1B, it seems to be loaded with "Default" ammo.

There is ammo to fire off

v 1.21

I've given up correcting my own spelling
Unless I've corrected it here

I can confirm this, at least from my little quick test in the QMB.

It affects not only the QMB but regular missions, too.

This bug was already introduced with FB 1.0. No problem in IL-2 1.2, though.

Air-Racing ... un-armed is - generally - lighter, and therefore quicker.
It also removes the possibility of accidentally fireing during a race - which will upset other race pilots.

Racing is one use of this sim where you do want your opponent on your 6 - not your 12 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Oh! I almost made fun of you by said "you want shot unarmed plane down without fear of shot back." My god! I glad that I didn't said that to you. I now understand you. LOL! Next time if I see your name then I will remember you as air racing! Go ahead and ask Oleg about bug in that Yak-1B.

Oh - a little joshing is OK http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

And that's not so silly as you may think.

We had a guy turn up on a race field in an armed bomber yesterday.
Thing was, the field had several different coloured spawn points, so we had pilots spawned - close together - as "enemy".

The AI shot up several planes on the ground, ...
... I cann't say that guy improved his popularity stakes much.

I noticed the bug when I wanted to do some damage model testing. You need unarmed enemies for that, but also for some kinds of missions.

Imagine a scenario like Priller's flight to the Normandy on D-Day (famous scene from the movie "The Longest Day"). Hundreds of enemies were flying above him without taking notice of his low-flying FW-190. In FB this can only be simulated with unarmed AI because armed AI fighters will attack any enemy within a range of some kilometers.
