Must say these are probably the best fan vids ever for AC, awesome work :D! Gives me shivers! Really fantastic editing mixing in-game footage with real location!

I was going to post these myself in case you don't lurk on the forums a lot, Loomer. Loving these vids. It's great to see these places from the perspective of someone who knows the games so well and can point out "this is where that scene happened". :D

hahahahaha I laughed so hard.

But yes, like Sixkeys said. Awesome videos and nice throwbacks.

I think every video should have a short introduction where M explains everything wrong with the events that happened in the location.

Was hoping you'd make a thread to draw attention to these, I posted the Rome one a while back in another topic but it was left largely ignored. Great work as always, that scenic shot of Florence's skyline was breaktaking and evocative, can't imagine what it must have felt like actually standing there and overlooking Il Duomo at that height!

Don't give him any ideas!

Loomer, I've only seen part of the first video, but it's great. I like your style. I'm saving the rest for when I can watch on the big screen.

New episode today, covering Monteriggioni and Siena. Let me know if bumping this thread is frowned upon, otherwise I'll post the last 3 episodes here as well when they go live.

Hahaha, the girl climbing the well. :D :D Love 3:20 as well with the blending sound, lol. I like that you're including both single-player and multiplayer in these videos. Shame that you couldn't visit San Gimignano as it's my favorite city in AC2.

Out of all AC IIs locations, San Gimignano is the one that resembles the original the most.

Should you ever go to Tuscany, dont skip the bicycle tours through its vineyards.

Man it's so hard to blend in real life. Walk right up to a few people and they think you're trying to pickpocket them or something. :p

Yeah, the scheduling for this trip got kind of crazy sadly since it started out not really as an AC trip but then my gf (the girl climbing the well haha) and I slowly turned it into one. If I could do the scheduling over again from scratch, I'd make a few changes and definitely make time for San Gimignano. The pictures I've seen look awesome.

Holy crap, my fondest memories of MP came flooding back after watching the footage of in-game Sienna. My friends and I used to play ACB's multiplayer religiously, at times 5-6 hours in a single day, but they all moved on from AC and I subsequently spent less and less time on each MP iteration that followed. In each of my attempts to revisit it, I struggle to get even half the player slots to fill up in the lobby before the session times out. A once bustling metropolis now a barren wasteland.

Nevertheless, ACB's adversarial multiplayer remains my favourite to date and this video was delight to watch.

Now that you mention Siena, I will always yearn a "Palio di Siena" mission:

-cut-

May be if AC II gets a remaster in the future.....

Nice images, a beautiful location that produced an equally beautiful in-game map. Siena, Castel Gondolfo and nighttime Venice are my all time favourite multiplayer locations.

If AC were to ever have a truly online-open world la RDR/GTA, something like Palio di Siena would make for a fantastic competitive racing mode (provided they overhaul their flimsy horse). The atmosphere with all those hundreds of cheering NPCs would be electrifying.

I was talking about the typical "assassination", but your idea is prettty good as well.

It always bothered me how much they screwed up Piazza di San Marco in AC2, it's so much smaller and much less impressive than in real life.

It is in fact so much smaller it has a completely different feel and effect compared to real life.

Damn loomer, I loved this one! Even though there weren't many iconic buildings, that last part of the video, specially there interior of the basillica was stunning. I can't wait untill december, when I get there myself. If you don't mind me askin, where are you from?

Haha, I suppose. I don't think my gf and I were aware of that cliche when we were there though.

Well I experienced the game version first so that probably colors my perception but I found it really amazing to visit the real-life area. The general layout is really well recreated, even if the scale is off.

Thanks! There are a few more iconic buildings that I didn't cover in the episode, either because nothing really happens there or because of time reasons. There was also Santa Maria della Visitazione, which I took footage of the wrong building for and didn't realize my mistake until a couple days ago. -_-

Right now I'm in the bay area of california, near Palo Alto.

Thanks Loomer and Candice.

Only just found these - fantastic vids! I used to live in Florence - on a street next to Piazza di Santa Croce so this brings back great memories! I see you also visited Piazza Santa Maria Novella - there is a fantastic pub called the Fiddlers just there :) Crazy fact Richard - the owner of the fiddlers has a villa in the hills outside Florence and Sting is his neighbour!

Any AC fans who visit Firenze should make a bit of time to visit Fiesole - its on the outskirts only a short trip away - but its very high up and the view is spectacular. Its even better than the view from Giotto's bell tower.

Shame you didnt get to go in the Duomo - if you get another chance you can take a tour up into the dome. Not for the faint hearted but amazing views!

Unrelated to AC you should watch Hannibal - the Hopkins film - its set in Florence and seriously weird seeing him wander around where you have just been! I watched it in a cinema just around the corner from Piazza della Signoria and walking there afterwards was..... well watch the film and find out :p

That's so cool, as the videos have been released I've really enjoyed hearing stories and tips from other people who have lived in or visited these places.

And thanks to all the kind comments about the series everyone. It's the culmination of a lot of work over the last 5-6 months and I'm glad it paid off :)

Man, watching the Florence video brought back to life memories from when I alongside my girflriend visited this beautiful city almost two years ago.
The in-game landmarks are very detailed, colorful and resemble very much the real ones.

Also, Tuscany countryside it's Europe's most pitoresque area. Anyone should visit it.

Great job and congratiulations!
