Hi people this topic is like said in the title, to post influences you found in AC games:

the legend of zelda :

Homestead missions is very reminiscent of Majora's Mask, things like NPC jobs in the right hour and missions like unite a couple.

obviusly a lot of influence of the wind waker in black flag

Ultima Series :

Corey May said in a interview that the first civilization is based on a similar species of old Ultima Series:

I sited only game examples but this is valid for every media(movies, books).

Prince of Persia would probably be the biggest influence considering AC was originally supposed to be a spin off the PoP series...

I don't know why but I have a feeling that history has influenced this game in some, minor way. Not sure why though.

Well the probably biggest influence would be the book "Alamut" by Vladimir Bartol, since the whole creed and the time/place/characters (not least the assassins - in the book refered as Hashshashins) in AC1 are based on it...

here's an old link to the interview Ubisoft admitting it :)

Tower defence games inspired Revelations .
Arkham inspired combat from Brotherhood forward.
I wonder if The Matrix had any influence on the franchise? For example the virtual training is a similar idea.
Ashraf mentioned RDR as a big inspiration if I recall correctly and of course GTA has inspired all games in this genre.

Desmond Lucy interactions in AC Brotherhood when they were trying to get into the Villa were definitely inspired by Nathan Drake and Elena/Chloe from Uncharted 2.

That book itself about the real world assassins of the time, the Hashishin or Hashshashin.

Corey May also said a couple of years ago that the whole preset-day/first civ ancient history overarching plot was inspired by the works of Immanuel Velikovsky.
