View Full Version : No cross hairs in German in cockpit gunsights

Whenever I fly one of the German ME109, FW190, ME262, which ever plane you choose, when you look through the small heads up the cowl the glass is there but the illuminated cross hairs seem to float somewhere to the left of the sight. It seems that if you bank hard left or turn left the cross hairs float into the center but when you let off of the turn or bank it goes back to the left. Is there a key or setting I'm missing to get the cross hairs to stay directly in the center of the HUD? I had the older IL2 Sturmovik sim. and the same thing happened. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

Check your control assignments. A little ways above the HOTASS section, there's one called something like gunsight adjustment. I think the default is Shift+ F1, but I assigned it to one of my joystick buttons ages ago, so I can't be sure. It simulates the pilot lining up his 'shooting eye' with the sight. It's useful in several other fighters as well, including the P-47 & the Ki-84.

Welcome to the game, be patient, and play with your control assignments a bit to make it suit you and your stick. It'll pay off for you in the long run.

cheers

There's a thingy called Toggle Gunsight in your Forgotten Battles Main Menu screen/Controls, and by default, you can use it by hitting Shift+F1.

Cheers!

I think they should incorporate this solution into the graphics at the top of the forum. It has to be the number one asked question of all time for this game...maybe they should make it the default view on the 109/190/P-47/etc.
