What was the first game you guys played and got you into the series?

For me it was AC1 back when it was released.

Well, I played AC3 (my first AC game) around my birthday in october 2013 and AC4 around christmas 2013 but I didn't join the fandom until this year.

Hmmm... for me AC1 early in 2008 but I wasn't hyped for the next installment back then. When I learned about ACII, I was totally into the series and from that point bought and loved nearly everything related to the franchise. Did join the Forums late last year, came back some weeks ago.

2010, with Brotherhood. The first game I technically played was AC2, but I didn't own it.

I got hooked into the franchise in 2008. I saw the screenshots and read the review on AC1 on a local gaming magazine and it really peeked my interest. I also thought that Altair was a very cool looking character and I was excited about the free-running.

I got AC2 when there was around 4 months to Brotherhood. I got AC1 and then Brotherhood after I beat it. I got Revelations on release date and then pre-ordered AC3,AC4, and Unity so I'm a solid fan now. I started reading about AC on the internet July 2013 and got into the forums here around July of this year .

Started with AC1 back in 2007 on the PS3.

I played all the main games in order of release.

I didn't own Assassins creed myself back when AC1 came out. My friend had a copy but according to him AC1 was just terrible so I didn't bother continuing past the tutorial. When ACB came out I had totally forgotten about AC and didn't even know there was a 2 and ACB. One day I was bored out of my mind because everyone was on vacation, and I didn't feel like playing more Fifa or Fable (basically the only games I played outside of AC on the xbox lol) so I decided to check the games my friend borrowed me while he was away. I hated FPS so AC it was. I finished the storyline and didn't like the gameplay that much, except of course for the freerunning. But man, I was hooked on the story, I immediately googled for a sequel and when I saw there were 2 I ordered both and finished them in that same week. Pre-ordered Rev when it came out. AC3 and AC4 I both got as a special edition game, with figurines etc.

So yeah, TLDR; AC1 during ACB.

AC1 was the first one I played.

I heard about AC1 before it was released, 2006 I think, got to play it and AC2 a little before Brotherhood was released.

Becuase I loved ac 1 so much, ac 2 was my most anticipated title I have ever purchased.

i heard about ac1's name, and tried running it on my p4 pc with a bad graphics card, i upgraded it after almost 2 years to i5 .. then i installed ac .. then ac2 after that .. and then i heard about brotherhood release time and watched its trailer almost everyday, then another whole year for ac revelation and then ac3 ... all those games were buggy for me as i was playing them from torrents ... but this year i heard a call of something about uplay points, that if you have some you can get unity for free ... so i went on to buy ac2, after finishing it i bought all sequels .. and played them ... and they were way better than the quality wise choppy torrent games ...
and now with ac initiates .. my dream of ac die hard fan .. became true ;)

AC1. Saw mixed reviews (Back when I actually listened to reviews) and decided against buying it. Then my brother rented it a few weeks later, I tried it and fell in love with the exploration and music.

AC1 (technically).

I had a friend who had played AC since the first game at release and he would always talk about it but I didn't really game much back then, all I had was a PS2. I decided to try it and I borrowed his copy of AC1 on the PC (even though he was a PS3 gamer) and I tried playing it as best I could with my crappy laptop and it ran smoothly enough, it's just that the cutscenes took so long to play; the audio would play but the video would lag so it would wait for it to catch up before playing more audio. Never finished it unfortunately, due to the laptop being crappy (and the game too haha). I then got a PS3 for Christmas the year Brotherhood came out, and my one and only game was AC2 and I played the s*** out of it, I then got ACB for my birthday as it was in January. A few months later I got AC1 for the PS3 and finished that, it wasn't too bad on a better machine and Alta´r was so cool so I loved the game for that. After that, I preordered every AC game since.

My first AC game was AC2. I didn't have a PS3 or 360 during the release of AC1. I borrowed my friend's copy of AC2 a couple of weeks after it was released since he finished it quick. I was hooked because I've always been somewhat of a history buff, and I find real life conspiracy theories interesting. It was neat to see how the writers were able to take real life conspiracy theories and twist it to fit into the AC universe. I really liked Ezio, the rest of the cast, time period, and the sound track. I didn't enjoy the combat that much, but it was still kinda fun. I did, however, enjoy the free running/parkour a lot, especially the Assassin tombs. I finished the game pretty quick. After I returned the game to my friend, I went out and bought AC1 and AC2 some weeks later. Since then, I bought every game on release day minus Black Flag since I was busy around that time.

I remember reading impressions of shallowness in AC1, and seeing videos of it in action. I also remember thinking "I don't care how shallow it is; I have to go do that!". So I grabbed AC1 shortly after launch. The only "real" AC game I've skipped so far is AC3. Revelations left me cold, and the press on AC3 did not help. I was convinced I had played my last AC game. But then Black Flag came out. All is forgiven, for now.
