Its interesting alright. And it is shedding light on the occasions that I have been confident about my situation in a fight, only to become dumbfounded and very annoyed when a clear advantage that was carefully earned was shot to h+ll by one of those UFOs.
Of course I adapted to the fact that I couldnt count on real-life aircraft specs even remotely when I entered an engagement after a few surprizes like that.Unless its German vs German.
I still kill far more than I die,but this situation is depressing from a sim point of view. And I will be surprized if they can/will get the numbers in the + - 5% range.

At first a little about sources of real life performance of the planes - because Oleg always claims that our sources are incorrect and his secret sources shows otherwise. Once asked what sources he considers as true Oleg in ubi forum responded that he bases planes performance on NII VVS (Nauchno ispytatelnyj institut VVS) and LII (Letno issledovatelskij institut) test data and as the secondary source he uses TsAGI (Tsentralnyj aerogidrodinamicheskij institut) data.
So for comparison Ill provide a wide range of NII VVS and LII tests, data from TsAGI book "Samoletostroenie v SSSR", and data from some other russian books, what mostly refers to the NII VVS tests.
------------------------------------------------------------
I guess these sources were just a reference point for the designer. Would have been nice to see other world sources listed, kind of a narrow resource he has there. Russia is only one source of information. Well, according to the tests even this information was ignored. Good read, but not surprising.

It just doesnt make sense Admiral. They had everything going for them. Are we better than they are or just luckier?

And all this time I thought it was historically accurate for the La-7 to do a 180 and run down my 262.

Imagine my suprise!

Anyone know how the P-47 climb rates compare to the 109s with this IL2 compare thingy? HeHe.
