OK, at the risk of "oh look, another noob" comments ....

I spent some time today playing online for the first time - What are opinions on shooting down players in parachutes? I got shot to pieces in mine, but I didn't return the favour! Whats normal tactics for playing online? Should I be ripping up people's canvas too? It doesn't seem right....

(got 2 or 3 kills on my first day so I'm not too bothered by it!)

I don't bother, it's a distraction while something else gets behind you and a waste of ammo if nothing else. It's a game, not a war http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you think a while, you'll realize that in a real war the only limits to cruelty are fear of death and remorse. In these virtual combats no one is really hurt (but in self-loving) and, hence, there're no limits at all.

Bad times for gallantry... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I only do it offline to AAA, but Oleg, Japanese AI should attack the chutes. They were known to do this a lot.

I never hit pilots in parachutes nor do I vulch, unless ordered to. I guess the reason for this is a sense of"chivlary" but also that I fly sims to dogfight, not to shoot sitting ducks.

I generally don't shoot parachute's - i mean whats the point?

sometimes i might offline - because i know - it doesn't make any to difference to anything

online i try not to at all, and the one time i did i said sorry - theres Zero skill involved in shooting a parachute.

i mainly try to avoid it as i think sometimes it can offend people - if you've just shot someone down - and THEN waste them in their chute. Perhaps it could be interpreted as a final kind of "F*ck you" kind of thing. Or just offensive to those that don't do it - like vulching.
