Looks like the good old X-45 has made the jump to the PS2. Now all we need is Ace Combat 5. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Also, this company makes chairs for racing cockpits, and now is adding support for flight sticks (check under the NEWS link). Works kind of like my lawn chair cockpit, only nicer looking, and more money.

I wonder if we can order just the dust boot for our old ones. Looks good and would tidy the thing up from all the dust, collecting on my wax.

I wondered about a future PC version upgrade when I saw that. Notice a slight rearangement of the buttons on top of the stick as well? FFB might be nice if they added it to the X45. Still, if the boot hides the spring and pressure plate, it could be tough to wax the plate without craking the boot open.

Wax the plate?
Ummm ... is there some maintenance I should do that I don't know about?

What benifits are there? How do you wax the plate?

See that black plastic plate below the spring? Lift it up and rub wax around the edge of the lip below it. It helps smooth it out. No more friction hiccups.

Are we sure that's a legitimate Saitek product? Sure it looks just like the X45, but anyone who's been to China will tell you everything looks real, but 95% of it is fake. Not only street vendors and flea markets, I've seen entire malls full of brand name imitations. They're extremely accurate replicas, but the quality is never any good. The fact that they have Flightstick2 on their stick where it says SaitekX45 on mine in addition to the low price, and I'm sure it's not real.

If I'm right and it is fake, there's no reason to speculate about a new or FFB model.

That's the deal, I don't even think its a Saitek product at all. Either HORI licenced the X45 for this conversion, or... something else!
