New to this game and the previous but I want to get back into combat sims and I just need a yes no on wether or not gunners postions on bombers are ai controlled or if they can be manned by human players.

I am attempting to get a graps on the number of players at one time for server needs. I plan on putting together a series of servers that will not just be big free for alls but I am still working on putting this together so no info yet.

I believe almost certainly that the gunners' positions on flyable bombers are occupiable. That's the way it was in FB with planes that had gunners. Don't expect to be able to fly as an engineer, radio operator, navigator, or copilot though. Though seriously, isn't pilot, bombardier, and gunners enough? And how many people just want to watch the engines for an entire mission?

Since PF is based on FB engine I belive iot will be the same:
You can have hummans man evry gun available in bombers, or you can man them yourself.

You can "jump" stations bombardier (onlly the pilot can) and gunners, while in flight.

Just in case you aren't aware yet, there are two forms of online game you can host: coop and dogfight.

In a coop, you can man all the stations in an aircraft with human players. In a dogfight there is only one player per aircraft.

Also, coops are a dead-is-dead format, i.e. if you die, your mission is over, whereas in the dogfights you can hit refly and respawn in a clean aircraft.

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!
