Something is wrong with Ta 152:
In IL2FB Aces: 0 meters - max speed 490km/h
9000 meters - max speed 430 km/h

Real: 0 meters - 563km/h
9000 meters - 748km/h

All with GM1.
And all other planes have same high-altitude bug.Try to shot down B-17 in 10000 meters it is total stupid because your speed is above 300km/h.This is not Ta-152!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Yes I am using MW50.Can you reach 750km/h with ,,your´´ Ta 152 in 9000meters? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Are you confusing IAS(indicated airspeed) for TAS(true airspeed)? In order for you to see the TAS you have to go to "wonder woman view"(ctrl + F1). I have no problems reaching 750km/h at 9000m, IAS at this alt and speed would be 450km/h. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

When it comes to aircombat, I'd rather be lucky than good any day!

I'm interested to know what prop pitch setting, fuel amount you use to reach this, of course your using GM 1 at this altitude, I've only managed 703TAS @10,000M so far and would love to see somewhere near your figure. Also Robban, what do you make of Ta's climb performance, less than combat reports and figures in Dietmar Harmann book "TA 152 High Altitude Fighter"?

Make sure you make these speed tests over the Crimea map as it offers the perfect atmospherical conditions. I used GM-1 and auto prop pitch(I think, otherwise try 100% pitch). Beware that it takes time to reach 750km/h.The amount of fuel has little or nothing to do with topspeed but acceleration does however. Make sure that the rads are fully closed. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

As for the Ta's climbrate, I think it's quite ok. The problem is that some other planes climb much too well, especially at high alts. The Ta can reach 5000m in a little over 4 minutes, it's only slightly slower to this alt than the D-9 '45. It's highalt climbrate is ok also. Above 6300m the supercharger goes into third gear and at this alt the Ta will outclimb any other plane, except for the K-4.

Go here for max climbrate comparisons. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Thank you for the advice, I'll give this a try when I get home tonight.

She just doesn't preform well unless prop pitch is between 55-85% up there. Not enough air to bite. Manual pitch at 100% she just spins her wheels and auto-pitch she doesnt seem to rev out.

Did anyone see that or was it just me?
