View Full Version : Oleg, give us destroyed objects in the FMB

The destroyed objects are already created in the AEP program files. So, why not just let us have the ability to select them in the FMB for use in missions. Give us the destroyed stationary stuff and objects.

The sim is very sterile or too clean for war. We need some burned out destroyed objects when we're taking off and landing, attacking ground objects,etc.

Currently, I fly a pe-8 with a 5,000kg to destroy a bunch of stationary objects before my mission gets to the area of destruction. I make the PE-8 fly about 200M above ground and it destroys it too. LOL

Problem is you can't start missions from an airbase with destroyed objects, etc.

I'm sure it's not a big request and it would make a difference for mission builders to make things more "WAR LIKE".

If you are talking about destroyed buildings and objects in the "Objects" menu, it is already possible to destroy them in the FMB editor. Go to "View" then "Destruction" and right-click on an object and select destroy (repeat the process to restore it).

However if you are talking about stuff like trucks and planes and armor then yeah we cant do that...would be nice though

One way to do this is to set up a train stock car 8 or fuel tanker right next to some unfriendly artillery/armour. As soon as the unit recognises it's sitting next to a target it'll turn and fire and incinerate everything around it.

I'm not talking about the destruction thing in FMB. I'm talking about all the already destroyed stationary obects, stationary aircraft,etc. that are programmed into IL2 now.

Sure, workarounds is what we all do. I mentioned my big destruction tweak above.

I'd like to scroll the stationary destroyed aircraft, destroyed objects, destroyed etc. Then select and place destroyed object at that map location in the FMB.

Rather than an additional huge list to scroll through I'd prefer a checkbox on the object's properties tab where you simply check 'Destroyed'.

I agree that the workarounds can be very troublesome. If you place an enemy object on your airbase not only one gun will shoot, but all guns will fire across the base until the object is destroyed, unless you place buildings between all the guns and the enemy object.

I know this has nothing to do with the original post, but it would help make missions more real if we could also make moving objects enemy neutral like you can with stationary objects. I would really like to see some civilian aircraft flying overhead and also civilian vehicles on roads and in towns.

Bingo - this is the answer - a "destroyed" properties tab for all objects including stationary aircraft, etc.

It would also be great if there was a way to destroy multiple objects at a time, this way missions in, say, Stalingrad take less time to make.

Hi Guys

Gotta agree on this one.

I spent ages trying to create an airfield that had one end of it bombed out with planes and vehicles all over the place. The "Destruction" level damaged all statics like sandbags, oil drumms and buildings, but left the trucks, aircraft, AAA and jeeps undamaged.

Great idea to have a radio button option in the static objects menu of "Object Destroyed"
