Hello All.
I am not to to new to the flight sim world, but I do need to learn more of the basics of flying. I have been researching alot and fooling around here and there. Il2 Sturmovik and Lock On are the two I am learning. I have been spending time on both learning the different things, but the area I need alot of work on is dogfighting. Any tracks or training levels that I might be able to download for IL2FB? I have been learning form IronHands training for Lock On and he does a great job, but is there anything like this for IL2FB?

Thanks!!

S! Welcome to the forums.

Try MudMovers, they have a lot of interesting stuff there, might be some good things on tactics etc.

If you fly 190's, I have a few tracks demonstrating the scissors manuever as well as a couple with some general dogfights.

They're not much, but might give you some tips in the D9.

I'd say get an understanding of the different tactics involved in A2A combat and how they suit different plane designs. Or perhaps more accurately how different plane designs lend themselves to certain tactical "styles" of fighting ie. BnZ or TnB or overall energy fighting (which really encompasses the previous two, again depends on the plane). So, you might first ask yourself what style suits your temperment or what plane you want to fly and use the appropriate tactics accordingly.

I'm assuming that you are at this stage of decision since you are inquiring about "dogfighting" in general.

Man, I watched your La7_P51 Scissors track. Why didn't you finish the Yak wich you shoke off you tail. It was going low and slow and you had it in your sight!

If that is the track I think it is, it's because he was just about to crash. IIRC, as soon as he hit the deck, a 109 came in and shot him up.

Didn't seem to be any point considering he was mere seconds away from impacting the ground I guess.

well, honestly i got nothing constructive to add other than: don't crash & don't get shot.

master these principles & you will have it made in the shade. honest.
