I would suggest scripted servers like www.greatergreen.com (http://www.greatergreen.com)

When I first bought this game about 5 months ago I went onto that server and never looked back. Great intense action from skilled fighter and bomber pilots. I actually for the first time the other day tried an off-line campaign. After hitting 8x for 15 minutes I was so completely bored and so amazed at how bad the AI is I quit half way through. GL and be ready to bounce or be bounced.

Did anyone see that or was it just me?

You might download Hyperlobby.

http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz/

A good place to find others to play with. Easy to install and use, pretty self explanatory. All types of players their to play with, don't feel bad if you get shot down, and feel good if you shoot someone else down; thats the general idea. Good attitudes alwayse appreciated by everyone.

Tony, speaking as one who just took the plunge, don't be discouraged if the confidence you've built fighting the bots disappears in a hurry. So far so good. Got a kill our two wedged in there that wasn't an accidental collision and, excepting some bizarre warping from a couple of 109s, it was relatively smooth. Don't be surprised if you discover your key setup needs to be overhauled, too. Generally speaking, there's some nice folks that volunteered some good advice (like don't forget to retract gear and flaps before flying into battle. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif oops) and went out of their way to help. Good luck. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

If u try greatergreen as someone suggested, U will be shot down alot since its frequented by many good flyers.

But i must say that U will get good insight in aircombat.

A few advices (suggestions) is to fly the ac u feel most confortable in and climb to altitude over ur own base before u go looking for targets.
U also have to have buttons set for supercharger if it isnt automatic in Ur plane.
It is usually switched at 2-3000m (check).
If u stay below that alyitude u wont have to worry about it.

Remember to often make wide s-turns to check Ur 6 o'clock.
If possible, fly after or near friendlies. If u want u can ask if u can tag along with someone.

Make a recording of your session so u can get the full picture of the events and remeber to check what others do too.

If I have an unsharp day I'll see U on my six.

hey good for you!
I really enjoy flying in greatergreen
The others there are friendly, and thier settings are nice.

some advice. dont be afraid to ask for help if you fly greatergreen. there is normaly several roles to play. air to ground, escort, and intercepter.
dont be weary about asking for a wingman or an escort, generaly your request is granted just simply because the way the server is set up If your team loses a plane it hurts all of you. just give out your speed, altitude, heading, and position on the map "look at the numbers and letters on the grid"
oh when you send out a messge like this make sure to select my team, not all before you send it. loose lips do sink ships. ahh yes dont forget to listen to the enemy when they give out this info as well, remember the loose lips thing use that to set traps.

there is no sin in running away if you get in over your head. when i do get a kill I normaly turn tail and head for home better to run with one kill mark on your tail, than be caught in a furball with empty guns, or an over worked engine.

dont always chase your enemy down if they decide to run home in a fight. if they are a real team player they my be leading you into a trap, deadly fighter pilots tend to have wingmen.

use cover, generaly altitude is key some times if you are heading to a specific location you can use the clouds to your advantage. just learn to use your instruments and dont get disorented.

if you decide to fly low dont fly low enough to kick up dust thats like an arrow pointing at you saying shoot me down. If you fly low fly fast.

when i play the bonmber role I fly over the tree tops its not worth working a bombsite and dodging fighters.

sometimes the direct route to your target is the most dangerous. go around use the back door and catch them off guard. drop tanks are also helpful you can keep your fuel low, that will aid your manuverabilty and ditch the drop tanks when tha fighting starts.

Finally It is just a game! sometimes things get said online, its easy to do when your not face to face. just let it roll off your back if its directed at you. this is sometimes hard to do!

HAVE FUN AND ILL SEE YA IN THERE. if you need a wingman just call my name "Porc1" im not that great but ill distract them for ya!! GOOD LUCK!!
