Hi

Just got this game IL-2 Sturmovik 1st edition, but seem to have problems playing it online, well not as much as where but who with, everyone else seems to be playing a different version. This game is newly unwrapped so I have added no patches.

My question i suppose is, where does a novice start playing online and where may he find others with the original IL-2 Sturmovik

Kind regards

Monki

Welcome to the best WWII combat flight sim/game on the market!

If you like IL2 (I know you just got it) you'll almost certainly like IL2: Forgotten Battles. There's an expansion to FB due next month or so, and you'll most likely be able to get both in a bonus package.

You can start at Ubi.com, which, if you install with default options, it will be availible. Virtually everyone has the upgrades, so you'll have a difficult time connecting with others without them. Here (http://www.il2sturmovik.com/games_elts/updates.php) is the update page at il2sturmovik.com

You'll need 1.1a (75Mb) and 1.2

The 1.2ov is completely identical and compatible to the already released version 1.2 except that version 1.2ov has an open folder structure for radio chatter voice files and corresponding HUD messages, but you don't need it.

Hope this helps, good luck and

BOOM! Yeah, Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up. See this? This is my T-Bolt!! It's has 8 .50cals and 2000lbs+ worth of bombs and rockets. Republic's top of the line. You can find this in the Kick A$$ department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Farmingdale, Long Island and Evansville, Indiana. Retails for about $82,997.95. It's got a turbo-supercharger, all metal control surfaces with blunt nosed ailerons, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop Republic. YOU GOT THAT!? I've just had a quick peek in HyperLobby, there's 17 people waiting to\playing IL2 Sturmovik compared to 407 for IL2 Forgotten Battles.
Needless to say your best bet Monki would be to buy FB or as Cajun says wait for the 'bonus' pack.
You can download HyperLobby here: http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz

Hope you find an IL2 game running.
