last night, in IBU server, all was well...then along came a pilot, {edit: no names} and this guy started to team kill...dunno why, if he had a reason to, as if he felt wronged by someon, or what, bu the did it...but thing is, he kept doing it...

must be an issue of some sort, to spoil others' fun...anyway, he didnt stop...

Anyway, some time after some ppl were complaining about it, someone...I just dont know who http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif, suggested that everyone drop any other fights, and plaster the guy together...

Lo and behold, and to my surprise, everyone DID adopt a mob mentality almost immedently, and started to vulch said perp where he stood...his jug spawned, someone, from either side, sho tit....he managed to take off a few times, he was shot...

soon, things changed....some kept on it, and devised new tactics...at one airfield, (only one spawn airfield per side, that helped a lot) was a TB3 parked, to shoot him at spawn, plus a rocket laden 38 to boresight frag his ***...at the other airfield, was a 111 always ready to drop a coupla 2000kg bobms next to him...

later, some used a loitering iL2 to vulch him, or on the other field, a 110 with 3.7 gunpod...

anyhow, all this resulted in a small number of ppl keeping him effectifly grounded, while the others played without his interupption...and I should add, that it was great, not one of the "combatants" molested the guys keeping the team killer frounded, very commendable, that they recognized what we were doing, and didnt go fo rcheap kills while we kept the guyu down...

the whole thing was totally silly, we kept him on the ground, except fo r10 mins he was flying, for over an hour and a half, at least....hand to hand it to him, he didnt give up trying, but then, we all didnt give up blasting him...he didnt say either way, but Im sure, and hope, that it frustrated him, and made that game no fun for him, as he tried to do to the others....fo rus keepin him down, it was kinda fun, really...

the point is, it was nice to see everyone get together, and teach thi sguy a lesson...I know its the really stupid "mob rules" thing, and really, is scary, but it would be nice if this kinda thing would happen to team killers, or cheats, or whatever....

Ok, it looks like I named the pilot, from the edit....I didnt, not directly, just left a clue that would leave little doubt as to the guys name...

Just wanted to point that out http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I had a teamkiller once in a Coop.

We where in a flight of 4X Il-2, tasked to destroy ground targets somewhere on the Russia Tundra. I was lagging my ship behind a bit because I had choosen an heavier load-out. So, I suddenly saw this guy starting to shoot the other Il-2's in his flight, about half way to the target. He shoots down an Il-2 almost immediatly (point blank range) the guy didn't have time to notice what was going on. He starts to shoot another Il-2. The second flight member now realize someone has gone mad and a supposed team member shoots his own buddies. So, he mad some evasive manouvres. I was yelling through the chatbar to turn 180 degrees and trying to lure the renegada member in my guns. So, he does a full circle, bringing the TKer right in front of my sights. The turn he made, made them both loose altitude so, I had a slight energy advantage. I closed in on him and firing my MG's to scare him.

He doesn't care. There was still some distance left and they make an turn again. When they completed approx 180 degrees, the TKer was coming straight towards me, I had him in my sights and we where close enough. So, I fired and broke his aircraft. I shot him down, took the -400 points and we continued our attack flight with one intact Il-2 (me) and one shot-up Il-2 with no load-out anymore.

I can tell you, it was one of the worst Il-2 MP experiences...

The TKer said that he didn't know these Il-2's where from his own side... YEAH right...

He also pretended to be with a certain (spanish) squad. So, I began to evade all the games with pilots from that particular squad. I was also very upset when anyone from that particular squad enterred a room. A few weeks later, the 'boss' from the squad said that he was sorry to hear that some outsider pretended to be with the squad, taking over their names and TKing.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured
to you again.

Placed 3rd, with team, in the official european championship Il-2/FB

The idea of the "no names" rule is so that discussions are about problems, not about people. Indicating who is involved using hints defeats the purpose of the rule.

Well, I think it was quite commendable that everyone ceased hostilities and worked together to destroy a Team Killer. He was given many options to stop- he refused. They deserve no less. Wish I could`ve helped as well.

Very nice.

I think this just goes to show that a community can police itself when needed.

LOL Ki-Rin, I was there, great way to deal with a TKer. funny thing was after awhile, someone would type a colour(red/blue) an you knew where he was LMAO. As far as booting the guy, it was a dedicated server, whoever was hosting wasn't there at the time.

Salute!

This has happened before...and it ended with me and a few others flying P-39's and blasting the guy with a 37mm cannon on every pass. One guy would get him no matter what.

Unfortunately, the anti-TK system on that particular server kicked in to kick me (and probably the other guys) leaving the real TK'er to cotinue blasting guys on the runway with bombs. It was very annoying. These people deserve to be carpet bombed into oblivion.

If all can work together to maintain play, then they could let 109Z be used only by volunteers for policing the airfields to clean up TKers, and one Fb109Z over airfield could be easily identified as a "police plane" and not part of play.

I always said Oleg's planes are not the problem, but hehe the "community" is. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif

Well, thankfully, that flying joke wasnt included in the servers planeset...just the same, thats an excellent idea, lexx....but I think it was pure luck that everyone was working together, that couldnt be assured in future, and besides, what if the "policeman" goes bezerk in his Z? hehehe...but as I said in original post, I only flew to see if 5 cannons would take out a ship (they didnt) otherwise, I would abhor flying that travesty of a mockery of a sham...dont ask me what I think of those who fly it in a non-what if setting, hehe

The Z would have worked ok, but really, sittin next to him, or as it happened a few times, chasing him down the runway, taxiing at high speed in a 111 with 4000kg of high explosives, to nail him with even the shock wave, was quite nice http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Atomic Runt, and the other members of the TK containment society (who I wont name, if they wanna stand up, fine, we all know who was who that night) I salute you! <S>!

Just thought about what yo usaid again, lexx...maybe FB needs a patched skin fo rthe Z, maybe black n white like norht american ploice cars, (or sports referees), or green n white politzi schemne as in many european countries, hehe, some kind of distinctive skin fo ra designated "ref" to keep a lid on things...but I still hate Zs!

I was thinking the same thing but alot of servers turn off skin download, otherwise you could use any plane skinned bright Pink or something. With Default skins, the Fb109Z would still be recognized as different from a good distance. The trick is to BUILD a community that you can trust (its easier to blame some airplane that can't post in self~defence, an airplane that you can post its Name in pubic).

Bf109Z is best seen as long range high speed Jabo or escort fighter--neither of these missions have any business on amatuer Ace Dogfighter servers and their corny 30km maps. If we are talking about internet dogfighter FB, then we are not talking about any type of realism anyway. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
