Wow. I thought the days of the flat spin were gone. I can't remember the last time I got in one. Had to bail out online yesterday! I thought those were gone since IL2!

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

yeah, I was in a g2 trying to evade two yaks. I cut throttle and barrel rolled and stalled. Thinking nothing of it, I just applied opposite rudder and wham....Im seeing the horizon spining! I could'nt believe it! as I was at about 1km I bailed out...The last time I got into a flat spin was in the ol IL2 days. LOL.

Happened to me the other day. I couldn't figure it out until I bailed and noticed the tail was missing. Lol. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

i'm not sure what u guys are going on about exactly.. cuz i can put any aircraft in this game in a flat spin in about 5 seconds

15 degree climb throttle back to just above stall, full left (or right) aeleron, rudder and full back on the stick, two wing overs and bang you're in a flat spin.. easy as pie..

now practice your recovert

turn on wingsmoke, makes a nice airshow manuever :P

I think almost any plane can flat spin now, and I'm sure the increase in torque modelling in 1.21 (I think it was 1.21 anyway) makes it easier to do.

That`s the rudder that had departed the airplane.

I had one in an F-4 online last week. It had been so long since I'd had one I was very, very confused.

109F4s still do them ALL the time. Just do a hard or even medium hard right turn; whether you add rudder or not to coordinate that turn, you'll at the least have pre-stall buffet.

In the worst case, your 109F will suddenly exhibit FW190 behavior: you'll be violently ripped out of your right turn, thrown on your back and before you know it spinning. With luck, it'll be recoverable...without luck, it'll be the "Oleg Banana Peel Snap Stall and Flat Spin of Death".

Totally ridiculous, given the volumes of data about how docile the 109 stall behavior was.
